A day in the life of a benefits manager
• You develop and manage the overall global benefits philosophy and strategy
o This includes the ongoing strategy for Canada and the US, but also the seeding of new international markets
o This also includes time off (leaves and vacation) and any other non-monetary offerings to employees
• You manage a team that administers the current benefit plans
o Work with the team to ensure that all legislative changes are identified and implemented
• Take initiatives to develop the future state of the benefits team and how it will work on a global level
• Working closely with the business partners to ensure that the health plan is effectively providing the coverage that employees need
• Work closely in the development of communication of the plans to ensure that there are no surprises and that employees fully understand their benefit options
The finer print
• You have a minimum of 5 years experience managing benefits in Canada and the USA, other countries an asset
• CEBS Canada and US designation an asset
• Live the life you are trying to promote (Health)
• Strong communication skills
