The world is changing at such a rapid pace….and so are our jobs. By the time we write a job description, it is nearly out dated. And who wants to be confined to a box anyway? Instead of applying to roles by any traditional means, we want you to check out the departments below to get a sneak-peek into the beautiful people behind the scenes. All of these roles are located in Vancouver, BC, unless stated otherwise, at our Store Support Centre (2 blocks from the beach we might add!).

What we should mention is that we believe very strongly in the Law of Attraction. Here is the not-so-fine print: unlike the casino, sending us multiple emails will not increase your chance of winning. Writing powerful goals on the other hand will. Trust us when we say that we have received your resume. You will hear from us if there is a fit.

Merchandise Management
Planners, allocators, merchants – we are a busy team. You can find us in a sea of reports as we ensure we are effective in meeting overall business strategies. We work closely with Finance and the stores to ensure store plans and merchandise plans are all aligned for optimal sales efficiency. We are best friends with the Design and Production teams to ensure what we are making is aligned with our financial plans. All products are then sent to stores according to distribution centre inventory levels that our team manages. We’re also taking on alternative channels (ecommerce, Australia, strategic sales, etc) that are taking our business to a whole new level. It’s a big job, and our team takes it on eagerly. Combine your eye for design and taste for numbers – we are always keen to talk with merchants from all levels and all channels, retail experience is obviously going to put you at the top of the list !

ivivva
ivivva.  (Noun) ih-vee-va.  Inspired by movement; created by lululemon athletica. ivivva creates athletic apparel for active girls. Created by lululemon in 2009, ivivva creates components for girls (sizes 4-14) to be in a constant state of action. Our design team creates best in class apparel for girls who participate in our core sports (dance, gymnastics and figure skating) at the recreational and competitive levels. ivivva has its own stand alone stores and website and is a separate brand to the public eye but is internally integrated within the organization. She’s our little sister who is setting big goals and going after them! We are always looking for all levels of designers to join our growing team. A love for apparel that enables our target audience to move and groove will elevate your application, again portfolios showcasing your talents in junior design will make us really smile!

Administration
We are the happy face of lululemon when guests arrive at the Store Support Centre (SSC) in Vancouver. We direct, ship, manage, order, prepare, and organize. Often, we are found beneath a growing pile of packages, waiting to be sent to the four corners of the world. We help with security access, facility and space planning, and leading fascinating tours of the building. Our favourite part of our job is meeting all the new people that stop by our desks. We’re a hub of hellos! We are made up of Amazing EA’s (the glue), Shipping/Receiving and Reception. Smiles are free.

Finance & Financial Planning
Our primary goal? To make sure that lululemon operates efficiently and profitably. We process, record, report and analyze. We report to investors and to all levels within the company. We help to design and monitor internal controls to ensure company budgets, strategic plans, and external regulatory requirements are adhered to. We’re also the payroll team for all of our North American based employees, which explains why we are best friends with just about everyone. We are always looking for CA/CGA/ CMA Accountants of all levels and Financial Analysts who can operate an abacus.

Store Development
If we build it, they will come. Our department creates socially conscious, locally relevant stores in all the right locations across Canada and the United States. We’re involved in new store construction, renovation and maintenance projects, store design, and negotiation of all contracts for construction. We also provide support for existing buildings by improving structural maintenance and reviewing/managing lease contracts. We’ll whip your facility into shape. Hard Hats not necessary but we love Construction Professionals, Store Designers, Real Estate Managers and anyone who has great retail real estate experience and loves to sweat.

Asset Protection
We protect our asse(t)s. Our team is breaking ground and paving the way for the future of loss prevention & asset protection with our revolutionary Asteya Program. We show gratitude for what we have rather than trying to fight against losing it. We’re all about raising the level of integrity everywhere we go. We do this with a strong emphasis on education while working closely with managers and partners to communicate, train and implement our proactive programs. Information Technology
Some say we are brilliant. It’s true. We maintain business applications, store systems, technology infrastructure, and networks. We facilitate the selection and implementation of new business systems and user department initiatives. We also provide daily support for users with desktop computers, email, phone systems, etc. Our team can be bribed with Starbucks coffee and donuts and, for the right price, we can also arrange it so that you never receive email again. (We’re THAT good!). We are always in need of amazing Business Analysts, Project Managers, Ecomm Pros, PLM,Supply Chain, Infrastructure/Network, Developers, Support Level and anyone who knows their way around a Commodore 64.

Retail Operations
We oversee the entire retail operation. Our job is to create a unique and memorable guest experience in our stores by constantly innovating in the areas of floor management, guest education, scheduling, product awareness and community relations. We touch all aspects of store operations, including making sure stores are seeing positive results which meet or exceed company goals. Sound complicated? It’s not. We simply help the stores be the best they can be. And have the time of their life while doing it.

Operational Solutions
Ops Solutions, within Retail Operations, is commonly referred to as the funnel. Sure, it sounds weird, but it’s true. We collect all the departments’ initiatives and channel them towards the stores when they are relevant and timely. We streamline communications, reduce complexity and advocate for the stores so managers can be focused on educating guests and developing their people - not on administration. We are passionate about the stores and are best in the world at prioritizing, simplifying, listening and empowering. You can thank us later. Or now. The more letters behind your name the better. Retail Training
Focusing on our stores, we are your team of trainers that develop and deliver content and programs designed around our product, people, operations, and our community. We share everything from great ways to execute on our operating principles to how to train staff to get ready for holiday. We maintain the lululemon online HUB and partner with Regional Managers to ensure our people have the tools and training they need to succeed. Strategic Sales
We are on the front lines of the ever-expanding lululemon borders and are arguably the most good-looking department. Our team creates a strong network of wholesale partnerships with yoga studios, fitness centres, and luxury spas across North America. These business partners introduce our culture and product to guests in new & existing markets. We build ongoing relationships with these partners and educate them on the core lululemon products they choose to stock, so that they can speak powerfully to the innovation and integrity of our garments. Production
We are responsible for the sourcing, manufacturing, and quality assurance of just about everything. We are socially responsible and work with our lululemon liaison office (LLO) to practice ethical sourcing and make sure our factories comply with our Code of Conduct. We also get to see garment prototypes move from costing and factory manufacturing to the delivery stages. And, being the stand for quality we are, our team also manages our stringent product standards. “Good enough” doesn’t hit the floor on our watch. We ensure that the fit is amazing, the garment performs as intended, and that the hidden features will truly surprise and delight our guests. We are always looking for all level of developers to join our growing team of raw material developers, garment developers, fit specialists. A background and love for sports apparel is an advantage but foremost a demand for the highest quality is key.

Design
We are the athletes that create technically beautiful components for athletes. We live in a world of colour, trims, inspiration, and lots of sweat. From concept to in-store launch date, we continuously design the components we speak of in our mission statement: components for people to live long, healthy, and fun lives. We thrive on feedback and research from the field when we go out and use the garments. We love doing store shifts as we get to interact directly with the people playing in our creations. We innovatively solve garment performance problems and create what the world needs before it knows it needs it. We are always looking for all level of designers to join our growing team. Design Internship (apparel)
A design internship at lululemon athletica will give you the insight into the business behind design. Through shadowing and hands on action you will learn all about technical fabrics, trim, technology and innovation. You will experience the launch of new product lines and how departments such as planning, allocation and merchandising interact to make this seamless. You will contribute through trend research, design meetings, brainstorming and guest feedback.
You are responsible for driving your internship, what you put in you will get out and remember this is an opportunity to make a lasting impression leading to employment upon your graduation.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree in Apparel Design / Textile Science
  • Exceptional passion and knowledge for fashion and athletics – yoga and fitness
  • Eagerness for technical fabric and garment construction knowledge
  • Strong problem solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills. high attention to detail, and solid organization, project management and planning skills
