Lissa loves teaching group fitness so much she frequently wakes up in the middle of the night teaching imaginary classes in her sleep (it's the truth). She began teaching in 2003 while she was in graduate school and hasn’t stopped since; she currently teaches pure barre, pilates, ski conditioning and BodyPump in Aspen. Lissa’s definition of a great day begins with teaching-- helping her students feel strong and good about themselves and being a healthy, positive part of someone’s day. Lissa is a founding instructor of pure barre Aspen, and is a certified Pilates, BodyPump and group fitness instructor.
Lissa has a passion for adventure, challenge and motivating people in the outdoors as well, and knows that fitness is the prerequisite and foundation for them all. She spent several years running a mountaineering guide service and climbing and skiing around the world. She is an avid adventurer—especially long-distance running (like the RimtoRimtoRim in the Grand Canyon), ski mountaineering and backcountry skiing and mountaineering, including summiting Ama Dablam (22,349 ft) in Nepal. But she is happiest when she is exploring and re-exploring her own backyard, in the beautiful Elk mountains. She loves challenging students in her classes to work harder and increase strength in order to perform better in the sports they love to do outdoors.
