Rachel Sears Casanta is a professional triathlete and co-founder of Hypercat Racing, an endurance sport coaching company. A six time Team USA world championship team member and four-time Ironman, Rachel is a highly sought after speaker and presenter. “Rachel’s passion for sport is contagious. Before you know it she’ll have you whipped into shape and pursuing goals you never dreamed of!” Rachel offers clinics and lectures on wide range of topics including goal setting, time management and training and racing for running and triathlon.

An East coast transplant, Rachel began her running career in 1988. She ran cross country, indoor and outdoor track for Paul V. Moore High School in Central Square, NY. In college, Rachel competed for Syracuse University while pursuing her bachelor’s degree in television/radio/film production and international relations.

A move west to the San Francisco Bay area in 1998 introduced Rachel to the world of endurance sports. She quickly took a liking to the structure and discipline of multisport training. After winning a duathlon world championship title, Rachel decided to make the leap to professional racing. Today you can find Rachel at running, cycling and swimming events and at triathlons ranging from sprint distance to Ironman. In addition to coaching adults, Rachel shares her love of sport as coach of the track and cross country teams at Albany High School in Albany, CA.

A Masters candidate in the Sport Management program at the University of San Francisco, Rachel also keeps busy as the administrator for the Southwest Region of USA Triathlon. Rachel holds coaching certifications from USA Track & Field (Level I), USA Cycling (Level II), USA Triathlon (Level II), A.C.E and A.S.C.A.

Look for Rachel training on the trails of Tilden, Redwood or Briones parks or on the famed cycling routes of the Berkeley hills. When she’s not coaching, training or racing, Rachel enjoys time with her husband, Philip. Together they stay busy herding their two chihuahuas, Zola Budd and Bella Mia, along with their quartet of cats, Toonsis, Spokes, Jemyma and Purrnessa.
