Equinox & Exhale Spa
Vito is grateful and inspired to teach yoga and provide Thai yoga bodywork full-time in order to share these powerful and healing practices. Vito is a caring instructor who teaches mindful and challenging classes with a strong connection to alignment and breath. His attention to safety and therapeutics enables students to open body, heart and mind in a deep and sustainable way.
Vito was not born a yogi -- it took a neck injury to lead him to the mat in 2004. And with a debilitating fear of public speaking, Vito began teaching with great trepidation in 2007 while working in non-profit management, and serving as a Baptiste Yoga assistant.
Vito informs his teaching through regular study and training of Yoga, anatomy, physiology and bodywork. Vito’s 200 hour trainings include study with Natasha Rizopoulos in the YogaWorks method, and most recently with David Magone in the Pranavayu method. Additional trainings include study with Judith Hanson Lasater, Ana Forrest, Seane Corn, Ellen Heed, and Santosh Karmacharya. To better understand the body and provide a deeper level of healing, Vito completed his Level 1 certification training in Thai Yoga Massage with Shai Plonski through the Lotus Palm School.
In addition to teaching dynamic flow classes, he also loves to share his passion for practice using an Iyengar-inspired Yoga Wall (a.k.a.: Karunta yoga –yoga with straps and harnesses). Vito has taught in a variety of populations and settings including corporate offices, high schools, dance schools, and a nursing home.
