E-RYT200, Anusara-Inspired™ Yoga Teacher

Jeannine grew up in the South Shore city of Chateauguay. As a passionate figure skater and professional coach she experimented with many activities: dance, martial arts, track, and soccer. She started doing yoga after a ski accident forced her into having knee surgery. Desperately focused on resuming her active lifestyle, she never suspected the life shift that had already begun.

She completed her bachelor’s degree in Specialization Psychology and in 2008 left for Mexico to do her first yoga teacher training, where she woke up to the shift, to her calling. After 22 years in figure skating, she hung up her skates and stepped on her yoga mat for good. She has since taught over 1000 hours of classes and followed hundreds of hours of trainings and workshops. She has certificates in prenatal and therapeutic yoga and is also a certified personal trainer and nutrition and wellness specialist. In 2011 she completed a specialized teacher training in Anusara® yoga; a heart centered, alignment based Hatha yoga that empowers students of all levels to celebrate life.

Proud to be the only licensed Anusara-Inspired™ yoga teacher currently on the South Shore, Jeannine is dedicated to offering her students a well-balanced yoga practice. Her attention to detail yet playful approach makes each class a joyful experience, one that honours the uniqueness of each student and highlights the unity between all.

Jeannine works with groups and privately with clients. She offers lessons in pre/postnatal/mommy-baby yoga and therapeutic yoga, meditation, Reiki healing, and personal fitness and nutritional training. When she is not teaching yoga you will often find her sitting with a hot cup of tea and a brownie reading a book, or practicing yoga in the park. Her life is inspired by her blessed life experiences, her family, friends, students and by the many gifted teachers she has had the privilege of studying with over the years including Barrie Risman, Robin Golt, Noah Mazé, ”Shanti Jee” Rubens, Martin Kirk, Sienna Sherman, John Friend, Janice Clarfield, Daryl Vansier, her figure skating coach Sylvie Allard and many more.

“Yoga is a passion that consistently brings joy to my life; teaching is the vehicle I use to share this joy with others.”
