Aileen Cartier
Born and raised in White Bear Lake, MN, Aileen has been involved in health and fitness for the last 10 years. She has worked as a personal trainer and a health coach, partnering and encouraging people to set and attain goals. Aileen is a registered nurse and is currently pursuing her Master’s of Science degree in nursing. Her goal is to become a nurse practitioner and promote wellness and healthy living with patients in medically underserved areas. She is also interested in studying how running, in conjunction with various mindfulness practices, can be used to treat depression.
Aileen began running at the age of 18. In the beginning it was challenging, both mentally and physically. After the first few months, Aileen began to enjoy the obstacles running placed in front of her. It was exciting to set and achieve goals. Over time, this developed into a love affair lasting the past 11 years. Aileen ran the KeyBank Vermont City Marathon last May, and is currently training for the Philadelphia Marathon in the fall. In addition to running, Aileen enjoys acroyoga, hiking, and climbing. An avid outdoors enthusiast, she tries to get out into nature whenever possible. Aileen hosts weekly potluck dinners to promote community in the Boston area.
