Anwar found yoga in 2006 when he was determined to maintain an active lifestyle – which he worried could quickly slip away. He was drawn to yoga for its fitness component, though after practicing casually for two years Anwar found it was the mental and emotional benefits that kept him coming back to his mat. With a newfound depth to his practice Anwar committed himself to practicing daily and completed his 200 hour Teacher Training Certification at De La Sol Yoga, Hamilton, in 2011. He is now teaching yoga full time. His classes draw from both the Ashtanga and Anusara styles, along with an assortment of experiences from other traditions as well, combining powerful flows and precise alignment. Passion, love and sincerity would be the words to summarize my approach to teaching and running Exhale Pilates, Barre & Yoga Studio. I have been teaching Pilates since 2002 and am incredibly grateful for having a career that continues to leave me inspired everyday. Opening my own studio in 2010 was a huge hurdle for me to overcome. For years I had convinced myself that I didn’t want to have my own studio, but once I did it I realized that fear and insecurities had been holding me back from that, and many other goals. When Sue realized in her teens that physical exercise could transform her emotional and mental health she was hooked on making it part of her life forever. She began instructing through university and after returning to Canada from a business career she launched Tread Powerfully. Along with a dynamic instructing team, her classes range from outdoor power walking and circuit programs to small group classes, boxing and youth training.
