With an increased interest in consciousness and Eastern philosophy, Eric found yoga during a month-long experiment with his partner. Dabbling in yoga since 2003, Eric and Julia decided to buy a pass at Moksha Yoga Waterloo. Lifelong interests in athletics and academics (in Cognitive and Quantitative Psychology), led Eric to recognize the ability of yoga in supplementing an ongoing weight-training and meditation practice. However, Eric was unaware regarding the immediacy of yoga's effects on his physical, emotional and mental well-being. He is certified with 800 hours of teacher training. Eric is a certified Level I (Toronto, 2009) and Level II (Costa Rica, 2010) Moksha Yoga Instructor and is also a certified Yin Yoga instructor. Eric fully recognizes the myriad of invaluable teachers that have helped guide him along his path. These individuals include but are not limited to: Ted Grand, Jessica Robertson, Dina Tsoulahas, Michael Stone, Dr. Lori Buchanan, Frank Jude Boccio, Susi Hately Aldous, and Carly Forest.
Moksha has helped Eric to develop a strong and balanced, more flexible body. More importantly, Moksha has guided him in realizing his innate ability to respond with compassion, calmness and non-reactivity, helping him to make more informed life choices. Eric has noticed these calming effects on the body/mind in many others with whom he has practiced. The Moksha series, with consistent practice, allows one to truly take care of oneself; thus, helping individuals to ultimately extend our care and warmth toward others. Both, Eric and his partner Julia are excited to bring a beautiful life practice to the people of Burnaby and surrounding area.
