Originally from Sydney Australia, Katie teaches Kripalu/Vinyasa Flow Yoga and is a practitioner of Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy based in Encinitas, California.
Katie's fascination with health, the body/mind connection and healing began as a teenager and deepened during her career as a Professional Snowboarder. After encountering many injuries, including 3 ACL (Knee) Reconstructions and overcoming physical,mental and emotional hurdles through alternative therapies she has been devoted to the wellspring of potential within and cultivating a continued awareness that acknowledges and honors the wisdom and inherent intelligence that is there to guide us, day to day, moment to moment, if we chose to listen.
Katie has traveled extensively and studied with Teachers throughout India, Thailand, Sri Lanka, China and across the USA and Europe indulging her appetite for knowledge, the mysteries of the body/mind and following the breadcrumbs the universe lays before her on her path.
Known for her inspirational teaching style and ability to create a safe and sacred space, she encourages students to reconnect with what dwells in the heart, to get curious about their truth, and to cultivate the strength and courage to honor that higher purpose in their life. A blend of Kripalu/Vinyasa Flow Yoga infused with yoga philosophy, technical alignment and her heart felt humor. She draws on her own life experiences, her many teachers and her numerous adventures around the globe to bring you a truly multi-dimensional practice and experience.
Katie's commitment is to teaching, inspiring and empowering people to play an active role in their health (beyond fitness) and well-being so they can live happy, healthy, and fulfilled lives.
Katie is Certified as a Teacher of Kripalu Yoga, Prana Vinyasa Flow, Pre/Post Natal Yoga, Journey Dance, and Yoga Trance Dance. A Certified practitioner of Thai Yoga Bodywork, Massage Therapy and Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy. She has also studied Reiki Level 1 & 2, Reflexology, Chi Nei Tsang, Qi Gong, Tai Chi and Shaolin Long Fist Kung Fu in China. She is Certified in Classical Pilates and studied Anatomy, Physiology and Functional Movement at University in Sydney, Australia. (A.C.P.E.)
