Carmen Aguilar

Carmen Aguilar had completed an Engineering degree and then a Masters degree, spoke four languages and was deciding in what direction to launch her career when she found yoga. A seemingly crazy choice at the time, she dropped everything she was doing and devoted all her energies to the study of this discipline. Yoga provided her with opportunities that nothing else did and the deeper she got into it the more it fascinated her.

During the first years she studied with every teacher she could find, traveling abroad if necessary. She defines her early influences as Ana Forrest and Andrey Lappa. She completed teacher trainings with both while she developed her own practice, which she maintains today. Other teachers she has studied with include Shiva Rea, Richard Freeman, Rod Stryker, John Friend, Duncan Wong… Devoting to her practice between two and three hours, six days a week, she has been able to reach levels that few practitioners share.

However, her strength is not in her practice but in her teaching. Carmen is able to take her students to places that they would not be able to get by themselves. Some needed to get back in shape or recover from an injury, while others wanted to increase their athletic performance. Carmen has been teaching yoga for more than ten years, working mostly on a private basis with her clients where she developed a unique teaching style intended to make you achieve your best.
