Jessica began her yoga practice in 2001 and she started teaching yoga full time in 2005. Jessica's main yoga teacher trainings include: pre-natal and beg vinyasa yoga 2003, 200 hour teacher training in Ashtanga Yoga with Larry Schultz (It's Yoga) in 2005, and 300 hour Jivamukti Yoga with David Life, Sharon Gannon and Yogeswari in 2009.
One of her most cherished learning experiences was her trip to India. Jessica’s love of Ashtanga yoga lead her to India in 2007/08 for 2 1/2 months of studying: (Ashtanga at Pattabhi Jois's Ashtanga Yoga Research Center with Sharath Rangaswamy in Mysore as well as study of Ashtanga with Rolf and Marci Naujokat in Goa, Sanskrit, yogic philosophy, classical Bharatanatyam Indian dance and Henna art in Mysore, and study of Yoga and Ayurveda in Rishikesh).
In her day-to-day yoga community in Chicago she is thankful to her inspiring and gifted teachers: Amy Beth Treciokas, Patricia Hyland, and Cara Jepsen. International/National teachers that she has studied with and have highly influenced her are: Shri K Pattahbi Jois, Sharath Rangaswamy, Rolf and Marci Naujokat, Chuck Miller and Maty Ezraty, David Swenson, Danny Paradise, David Williams, Dharma Mittra and especially to her beloved gurus David Life and Sharon Gannon who through living example, everyday teach her that compassionate living, art, animal and peace activism, non-violence in action, and yoga as a spiritual path are together the object of her devotion!
Jessica currently teaches yoga full time in Chicago; she teaches 5 days a week at Yoga Now and holds a monthly Jivamukti workshop there as well.
