Joanna is a certified Personal Trainer, Yoga instructor and Pilates instructor. Her passion for connecting to, and accessing, the body and mind began at a very young age and has led her to an amazing path of constant learning and sharing.

Growing up as a competitive gymnast, Joanna has always loved to move, to sweat, and connect to the body. After over 10 years of intense gymnastics training, Joanna left the competitive world and dabbled in coaching recreational gymnastics for children and teens. It was then that she also began exploring the world of theatre, music and dance. She went on to study musical theatre in college. She loved the ability to fully express through music, movement and quality of word. Immediately following school, Joanna began touring internationally with the Broadway show CATS, performing in several countries and near to all 50 US states.

Following her time out on the road, Joanna moved to New York City. Her body and mind continued to constantly crave both the mental and physical affects of movement. She began studying and practicing various types of fitness and yoga, all while continuing to dance, sing and perform. Joanna furthered her deep understanding on body mechanics, how each piece affects another, as well as the multitude of non-physical effects and benefits of movement.

Joanna is a NASM certified personal trainer, a registered Yoga instructor, and a certified Pilates and CARDIOLATES® instructor. She has taught at large gym facilities and small boutique studios throughout New York City and Chicago. Joanna currently teaches large group classes and private sessions in the Chicago-land area.

Joanna believes that the body and the mind mirror one another. When we strengthen the body, we strengthen the mind. When we free the body, we are creating more spaciousness and freedom of the mind. She believes everyone has the ability to feel good no matter what circumstances may come their way. We all have the power to do this. She aims to spread this recognition of self-power in each class and session she teaches. Because we all deserve to feel good, right?!
