Katie's approach to yoga merges over ten years of study and exploration in skillful bio-mechanical movement with her passion for radically affirmative, empowered living. Her teaching blends safe, supportive physical alignment into progressive, dynamic and uplifting flow.
Katie is well known for her creative ability to weave the transformational power of presence and intention into yoga practice in ways that are accessible, down to earth, physically healing, and soulfully inspiring.
Currently based in Christchurch, she offers group classes, one-on-one yoga therapy, yoga immersions, and an RYT-200 Yoga Teacher Training program at Grassroots Yoga & Health. For the past several years, she has traveled around NZ and overseas leading weekend workshops, yoga trainings, festivals, and retreats. Katie is recognized by Yoga Alliance at their highest level, ERYT 500, and was certified by Anusara Yoga.
Katie acknowledges and honours the support and encouragement of many teachers and mentors including Desiree Rumbaugh, Noah Maze, John Friend, and Moses Brown. Her teaching is heavily influenced by the wisdom and poetry of John O'Donohue, philosophical study with Carlos Pomeda and Douglas Brooks, the deep organic enquiry of Donna Farhi's work, and the wildly free and passionate landscapes of New Zealand.
