Jaelyn Wolf

Jaelyn has been an athlete her entire life. Years of competitive snowboarding resulted in back surgery at the age of 19 and the possibility of being forced to halt her athletic endeavors completely if something did not change.

About a year after surgery, Jaelyn found CrossFit.

CrossFit offered Jaelyn what she had never experienced before in any other type of sport- a community of athletes who were serious about their nutrition, overall fitness, and were willing to put in the effort to reach their goals. The constant variety and intensity of the workouts brought on new challenges and allowed for the competition she had always thrived on. Seeking out and overcoming her weaknesses and anxieties is yet another facet of CrossFit that Jaelyn finds incredibly rewarding.

A year and a half after discovering CrossFit, Jaelyn participated in the 2011 CrossFit Open, where after performing a six-week series of Workouts of the Day (or WODs), she placed 12th in her region. This placement in the Open allowed her to advance to the Southwest Region Competition in Denver where she placed 13th.

Now she shares her newfound sport with others in the Colorado Springs area as a coach at Progressive Fitness CrossFit. There she fosters the sportsmanship, camaraderie, and teamwork that is so much a part of CrossFit--encouraging and taking inspiration in those times when an athlete is pushing himself to his limits, drenched in sweat, but still finds it within himself to cheer on a competitor.

With every day comes a new set of challenges. Whether it is preparing for the next competition or teaching an athlete her first kipping pull-up, Jaelyn embraces the opportunities to improve herself and everyone around her. Knowing that she has enabled her athletes to achieve their goals gives her great pride, making her want to be a part of the CrossFit community for years to come.

When not "CrossFitting", Jaelyn can be found playing in the mountains of Colorado or with her family and wonderful boyfriend and Progressive Fitness CrossFit owner, Chris Hoppe.
