Angie and Heidi met in a yoga class. Over time, they developed a friendship that would lead to the perfect partnership for their yoga studio dream, Harbor Yoga.
They wanted to create a studio that allowed students to not only meet goals but exceed them in a hardcore but fun way. "Harbor" means "A safe place; a refuge" and that is exactly what the owners strive to create during each practice. Heidi and Angie realized that when you combine fun and funky music with the yoga poses, it challenges a person to move with more purposeful strength and style. Their "yogahop" style of yoga is a hybrid of traditional Eastern style yoga with a more Western twist.
In the combined sixteen years Angie O'Brien and Heidi Bell have been practicing yoga, they have benefited from the athletic foundation Vinyasa Yoga has brought into their lives. Both avid runners and gym rats, Angie and Heidi quickly saw the positive improvements not only to their physical selves but also the emotional improvements. They specifically valued the confidence and energy that power yoga develops in each person. The strength, flexibility and balance that yoga provides improved their practice as well as complemented all aspects of their lives.
Angie and Heidi, along with their supportive husbands, hope to instill the value of wellness, health and confidence in their 4 children. By practicing yoga every day, it’s a great place to start.
