Nicole Salvo

Native Cold Pressed Juice

Nicole first stepped onto her mat in 2007 in the midst of working towards her BA at Columbia in Chicago. After 17 years of training in classical ballet, she noticed immediately the healing elements of yoga for the body and mind, and fell in love with the vinyasa flow practice, linking her movement with the breath. After spending several years hopping around the Chicago yoga scene, Nicole decided she would do her 200-hr teacher training with Core Power Yoga in 2011.

Meanwhile, she spent two years post-graduation working for lululemon athletica, as well as creating amazing friendships and setting goals which led her to her next adventure- traveling for six months in Southeast Asia. Nicole’s travels took her all through Thailand, to the South of India, then finally to the islands where she landed her very first gig- teaching yoga at a resort on Koh Samui Island. Nicole spent two months teaching 15 classes per week to people from all over the globe , which allowed her to “come into her own” as a teacher. Having the opportunity to introduce people to this life- changing practice, Nicole knew that she had found her calling.

Nicole returned to her native Ohio and dove immediately into the budding yoga community in Columbus. Encouraging her students to face fears, find strength, openness and vulnerability while keeping a light-hearted approach was her goal. Nicole likes to keep up with her studies (and find an excuse to travel) by training with some of her favorite influences including Kathryn Budig, Annie Carpenter, Noah Maze, David Kiel, and many more. Her hope is that people can translate what they experience in class into their lives and ultimately live more fully and expressively in their day to day lives.

Nicole has most recently crushed a goal that she set, yet again while working and shining at lululemon athletica. Nicole, with her business partner, has opened “Native” the first cold-pressed fresh juice boutique in Columbus, Ohio. You can find her with her sweet puppy Joie in the Short North juicing it up or teaching a pop-up class on the fly!
