New gear is great, but the best base layering piece, hands down, is the swiftly line. Last winter Olympics, when Clara Hughes unzipped her speed skating outfit, I caught a glimpse of a swiftly shirt. Way more breathable than RULU.

As for layering overload: I wear a MEC lightweight synthetic down jacket for running when it's cold in Edmonton — yesterday I used it as a warm-up layer when it was -5°C and put it on afterwards (I picked my kids up from school). Some of us get cold. I was x-c skiing last weekend in four insulating layers (two MEC merino wool, the Star Runner long sleeve, and a x-c team jacket). And when it's -30° out, you bet I'm wearing even more.

Hot Cheeks Skirt!!! I am so looking forward to seeing this on the site. I've been checking daily. My buns are the only thing on me that NEVER warm up during a run.

I live in Gaspe, Quebec, where it is often quite cold and windy. And I can not imagine having to wear 3 layers including a GOOSE DOWN JACKET to run. At the moment it is hovering around zero (celsius) and I run in a swiftly tech 1/2 zip. Sometimes I add a wind layer. If it's below zero I wear a rulu pullover with a hood and cuffins on top, and am usually too hot. Seriously - does anyone wear a down jacket for running???

Thank you for continuing to post previews of upcoming gear. It's nice to read all the info before buying. Also I really appreciate all of the new run gear LLL has put out this fall. I don't purchase the yoga gear, but I buy 95% of my running clothes from LLL. Please continue to make cute, quality, functional running gear and I will keep coming back.
