Hey Wren,
What I'd recommend is doing some research on yoga teacher training and finding the style and teachers that really resonate with you as they are all different. Some will have intensive courses where you study full time, others will space it out over several months. Once you have found a few that really speak to you, then get into the nitty gritty and see if they have any prerequisite to signing up. and even if they do require you to be 18 or over, you will have already done the leg work to finding the right course for you.

Is there a recommended age limit for yoga teachers? I've been practising yoga for about two years; I was fairly lax about it at first, but I've been quite devoted to it the last 18 months and I've been advancing somewhat quickly. Lately I've been considering becoming certified to teach, but I'm apprehensive because I'm only 17. I love yoga and I would love to be able to teach part-time during college, but I'm concerned that I might be too young. Any advice?

I have been attracted to the practice of yoga and what it can bring to one's life. Although i haven't had the funds to invest in yoga classes, I do try to practice at home. But i feel as though it's not as fulfilling... not the right environment, no guidance/adjustments from teacher...

I would love to become certified to teach yoga. my dream is to one day open my own studio, provide a peaceful place for persons to come and heal, be inspired, express creativity, grow spiritually.

my question is: do i need a more developed personal practice BEFORE joining teacher certification program?

Thanks for your advice :)

When you decide to take a yoga teaching program, it doesn't necessarily mean that there is a career choice to make. There are many who study to attain a certification so they can teach and some who do so for personal fulfillment.

Yoga is an art and it can be learned. You are ready when you have decided to make a commitment to learn how to be more skillful in yoga.

There's always a fear of not being good enough, I think that is something that will always haunt us no matter what we try. But if you love something enough to want to share it, then a teacher training is always a good idea :)
