amanda’s love list

Meet Amanda, who joined lululemon last December as an educator with the goal of becoming East Coast Regional Community Guru (which happened in May!). Here are things Amanda loves:

Yoga move: Wheel because it turns the whole world upside down. A change in perspective every once in a while is a must.

Place to run: The bike paths in Nantucket.

Font: Century Gothic

- MindBody (find a yoga class anywhere!)

lululemon items to work out in:
- Bra: Boobs on a Wire
- Tank: Cool Racerback
- Pant: Tadasana
- Jacket: Cocoon Wrap

Way to sweat: On a wedding dance floor.

Book: I have a weakness for trashy novels, but I’ll never forget The Help.

- New York
- Vanity Fair
- Entertainment Weekly
- Condenast Traveler
- Food & Wine

Current obsession: Wine! South American reds and Italian whites to be specific.

Inspired by: My Nana. She’s 88 and still cleans out her own gutters.

New fitness trend: The fusion of ballet and boxing.

Place to unroll your yoga mat: At the foot of any of my favorite teachers – Raghunath, Isaac Pena, Matt Lombardo, Rima Rabbath, Jackie Prete.

Way to celebrate: With a glass of champagne, some rocking tunes and a pants on the ground style dance party with my best girlfriends.

Way to get motivated: Loading my current playlist and turning it UP.

Stay tuned for more love lists from lululemon employees all over the company!

I love your quote about wheel pose. Never ever thought about it that way, and it made my heart warm. You are the Amanda.

My favorite pose is shoulder stand for a similar reason– I’m a student and it just gets the thoughts flowing when I’m stuck! But I also love wheel because it really challenges me to hold it for long.

I agree with the comment above. I never thought about wheel pose that way before. I love that!! I might have to put it in my facebook quotes. hehe

Awesome-sauce, Amanda! Thanks for sharing. Did you notice that most of your favorite items have the double ‘o’ in the product name? If you preferred Grooves to the Tadasana Pant, you’d be SmOOth sailing. :)

What is this ballet boxing fusion trend? that sounds exactly like what I need right now, some graceful plies mixed with butt kicking. Anyone know where to find these classes in Vancouver?

Rima and Matt are some of my favorite teachers at Jivamukti Yoga NYC! I work at Lincoln Square and I’d love to meet you! Namaste!
