A little bit about Liz

I am an eternal optimist who believes that the way to achieve success in life is to believe in yourself and your abilities. Risks and new adventures inspire and motivate me. Goal achievement has always been a part of my life and I feel fortunate to now work for a company that is so passionate about setting and achieving goals. One goal was to travel and work in a new country. Check. I recently returned from a year abroad in New Zealand with my fiancé Matt.

The first 18 years of my life took place in the beautiful state of Michigan. I’m at peace on the Lake Michigan beach and continually am amazed with the state’s natural splendor. Landing in Indiana after high school, I acquired a college degree and discovered the sport of cycling. I’ve always been a competitor, whether it’s a casual card game or a sprint triathlon, therefore my athletic prowess blossomed at Indiana University where I trained and competed on a Little 500 Cycling Team, winning the race in 2003 and setting a Individual Time Trail record in 2005. I’ve learned that if you set your mind to something and work hard, you will achieve it.

Following college I worked at an advertising and marketing firm in Indianapolis, IN. Assuming the role as a new young professional in the city, I also immersed myself with the live music scene while working part-time for a local radio station, and volunteered for the Indianapolis Museum of Art, Indy Jazz Fest and Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra to name a few. Indiana is where I found some of my closest friends and love of my life, Matt.

Now, I feel blessed to call Denver, Colorado home. I continue to enjoy long bike rides, this time in the front range of the Rocky Mountains instead of the cornfields in Indiana. Upon landing in Denver in the fall of 2009 I quickly enrolled in a digital photography course (inspired by my year abroad in New Zealand) and introduced myself to the amazing lululemon athletica team in Cherry Creek.

I could not be happier to work for a company that is fitness, yoga and goal oriented. I look forward to achieving my future goals, whether they are personal (becoming a professional photographer), health-related (completing an Olympic distance triathlon), or professional (assuming a management role within lululemon). Thanks for reading!

friends are more important than money

Friends are more important than money. Even before I started working for lululemon I was inspired by this quote. To me, it serves as a gentle reminder of one of my goals. My personal BHAG (big hairy audacious goal): I will book a trip with my best friends once a year. In May, nine of […]

warrior is more than a pose

“Warrior is more than a pose”. These are the words that Scott Anderson, lululemon athletica ambassador in Cherry Creek North, Denver, Colorado, lives by. When I first began my yoga practice two years ago I was only focused on one simple thing: keep my balance during Warrior I and Warrior II. I also only saw […]
