I live in Bondi Beach in Sydney, as an active competitive athlete running is essential for my conditioning... even though I used to dread it! Beach running was the solution -- low impact, less injury, and more challenging. Plus Sydney has beautiful beaches! ;D

I live in Northern BC and after falling in love with summer running decided to give winter running a go too. Personally I am in love with the winter, as I can zone out and animals are less of a hazard. Summer running, I have come to learn this means that you need to pay extra special attention to your surroundings as bears are a big problem here. But there are added benefits: I now notice all the birds, deer and the occasional crocus (which means spring is here!!!!). I don't think I'll be kicking off my runners anytime soon though (as it is I run with safety glasses on trail) but I love that people are getting in touch with the outdoors where ever they are.

Soooo ready for running on the beach. Thanks for this post! I can't remember the last time I let my hair loose while I ran. Anything to feel like a little kid again and just run free. Ahhhh summer...

I thought beach running would be a great thing to try on vacation. Not such a hot idea- I ran 6 miles barefoot and got 8 blisters. Be careful!
