It's crazy how much I didn't like this book before I actually read it. I saw Tolle in an interview and I was practically yelling at the TV, "That's Buddhism! You're just copying Buddhism!"

And in a way, I wasn't wrong. But it's important to give Tolle a TON of credit for the manner in which he lays out this books. A Series of well-paced and very smart questions (not strawman arguments), which lead to a very deep sense of peace. The power of Now is a great first step towards some very Buddhist ideas (sorry for the labels), and that's awesome.

Hi Jenna,
I read the book "The Power of Now" almost a year back, and my life has never been the same again :) It's getting better in every way each day. i am glad that i also read "A New Earth" as well. Yes, it's a like a different kind of psychology, one of depth and intensity.
I wonder, what method do you follow for being the moment?

Regards,

Both books are great reads. If you have read The Power of Now than A New Earth may seem somewhat redundant at points but still has great insight to humans as one entity. As a store (East Hampton, NY) we are reading The Four Agreements (A Toltec Wisdom Book) by Don Miguel Ruiz. Another "Spiritual Psychology" book as Jenna put it.

Yes, I feel if you have already been shown some of the concepts it helps a lot to flow through the book. Other parts I did struggle with, but I found it best to read in chunks on my commute to work so I didn't overload my brain.
I'm almost done a New Earth and love it! For me that book even spoke to me more so.

I read this book after already taking some workshops on meditation and it seemed like a very easy read. Many of the concepts were already exposed to me before hand so I could understand it easier on the first read. I really do like how there was specific spots in the book where it said to take a break and allow the material to soak in. I have started on A New Earth and am enjoying it.
