carry on and spread love!

Dec. 2010: Please visit this page for information on our voluntary bag withdrawal:

new shopper!

We love the “oohs” and “ahhs” we get from our guests the first time we hand them their first lululemon shopper. Instantly guests want to know: what are these phrases, what’s the deal with this bag, and why are you sharing it with me?

In sharing our shopper with all of our guests, we are sharing a piece of our culture and inspiration as a company. We have traditionally printed our shoppers with the lululemon manifesto, which is a series of statements that embodies our company's vision, culture and beliefs.

We love to see our guests carrying our shopper to and from yoga or around town, as it's a constant reminder of our vision to create components for people to live longer, healthier and more fun lives. The lululemon shopper is made of polypropylene, which is a plastic polymer that is 100% recyclable, does not absorb water, and is very durable.

have one already? opt out!

We know many of you already have a shopper or two, or five, and so we’ve added an “opt out” feature at the end of your online transactions with mother earth in mind. So if you already carry your groceries in your shopper, un-check the box that would send you a new one!

Opt out

carry on and spread love

Our shopper has been spotted all over the world, and it encourages strangers during a six-hour layover to “breathe deeply and appreciate the moment" or to "sweat once a day" on vacation. We'd love for you to send us a photo of where your shopper has been, where it’s going, and how you are spreading love! Send your shopper photos to, post it on our Facebook wall, or tweet them, and we’ll share your inspiration with our guests for the next week.

Ride your bike to work with your lunch packed tight! Why not ride your bike to work and share with us how your reusable shopper keeps you green!

Spread the love and carry on! Namaste.

I use my bags for everything – grocery shopping, lunch, gym bag (when I’m not using my lulu gym bag ;). Someone almost always asks me about the bag and I end up having a conversation or even sharing an extra bag with them – best form of advertising!

I gave each of my bridesmaids lululemon water bottles along with various other bmaid gifts– in their very own lululemon bag! I wanted to share my fave new brand with them and now they’re officially converts!

Every work day my lunch, lips and breath mints go in the Lulu lunch bag. When I get to work I unpack my lunch into the refrig and set the bag mantra facing me next to the computer monitor so I can take a peek and get inspired all day long…so I do, take a peek and get inspired that is! Happy!

I use my large bag for laundry as I work on a ship and the small bag for the gym to carry my gloves, water and workout book. Everyone at the gym is always watching my bag, I need to keep an eye on it.

I use my bag everywhere! It is light and strong.
I can carry laundry, fruit and vegetables, souvenirs to my families and friends! I brought some bags to Japanese friends and they also love it!!
It is great advertisement too!
My Japanese friends wish they’ll have Lulu in Japan again!!

If you are as green as you say, you’d give away your reusable shopper at your outlets as well, not just your retail locations. I am disappointed that you still use plain plastic bags at Lulu outlet.

Our reusable shoppers are one of our green initiatives, and you may have noticed that our educators ask our guests whether or not they need a bag at check-out. We encourage our guests to bring their resuable shoppers whenever they visit one of our stores, including our factory outlets. If guests bring their own bags, we can cut back on the number of bags we need to produce and decrease our carbon footprint. Thank you so much for taking the time to share your concerns. I’ll be passing your feedback along to our team for future consideration. :)

We have been travelling around Southeast Asia (Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, Laos & Cambodia) for the past 3 months. This bag has gone on planes, trains & buses holding our snacks & blankets. It has also been to every beach we have gone to as well. Like Tessa says works great on the ship At the gym since we both work on a ship as well. The best thing about it is if you are wearing or carrying anything lulu it’s an automatic converstion starter of where in Canada are you from!! The bag is also in great condition after all the uses.
