find the yoga tank for you

Being comfortable on the mat is a must. Each person has their own personal preference about what feels good and there are many different types of practices these days all requiring various levels of coverage and performance. We have a ton of tanks for every taste, practice and body...and because we know there is a lot to choose from, we've done a little comparison to help you find the best yoga top.

practice freely tank

why we love it: The body is made in lightweight Sheer Jersey - this top is perfect for Moksha or Bikram classes, or if you prefer a body-skimming fit as opposed to a tighter-fitting silhouette. The bra portion is made of luon so it has support and four-way stretch.

level of support and coverage: The front has medium coverage and the tank is a longer fit, with cutouts below the bra at the back for ventilation. The bra is low-support.

cool racerback tank

why we love it: This is the MacGyver of yoga tanks - is there anything the Cool Racerback can't do? From Vinyasa Flow class to CrossFit and marathon training, this racerback tank made of moisture-wicking luon is easy to wear on its own or layer under other pieces.

level of support and coverage: This racerback is body-skimming and has medium coverage in the front. As for support, it doesn't have a shelf bra...so we recommend wearing a sports bra underneath (but hey, whatever floats your boat). This tank is ideal if you have a fuller bust and are looking for a basic tank to wear with your preferred bra.

flow and go tank II

why we love it: This tank is perfect for when you want to feel like you're wearing nothing at all. The body is made of anti-stink Micro Diamond Mesh so no matter how many times you sweat in hot class, this tank will smell like fresh as a daisy.

level of support and coverage: This strappy tank has bare(ly) there coverage in the back and medium coverage in the front. The bra is made of luon and is low support.

cardio kick tank

why we love it: Much like the Cool Racerback, the Cardio Kick Tank is great for yoga and also run training, CrossFit and more. What's different? This tank has mesh paneling in the back for ventilation, a built-in bra for support and is made of Power Luxtreme for moisture-wicking.

level of support and coverage: The built-in shelf bra provides moderate support. The tank is fitted, has medium coverage through the bust and the length hits directly at the hip.

power y tank

why we love it: The Power Y features a streamlined cut well-suited for a variety of yoga styles and body types. The simple spaghetti straps come together at the back for no-fuss fit. The body fabric is made of breathable and stretchy luon® light and the built-in shelf bra is made of moisture-wicking COOLMAX® to keep your ladies feelin' fresh.

level of support and coverage: This tank is fitted throughout and has medium coverage through the bust. The built-in bra provides medium support during your practice.

vinyasa surf tank (coming soon!)

why we love it: This surf-inspired tank is made of stretchy and breathable luon to make bending easy peasy. This tank has full coverage in the front and a more bare back for a different feel from some of our other tanks. The high neck is perfect for keeping our ladies under wraps.

level of support: This tank is body-skimming throughout and is cut high in the front (ideal if you sometimes "pop out" during Down Dogs or handstands). The built-in shelf bra provides medium support.

What is your favourite tank to wear during class?

this was so helpful! I’d love seeing more tanks covered like this. it’d be SO nice to have a link to this on the tanks page too or maybe have the tanks arranged by coverage like they are in the store.

The advertisement for lulu leather is absolutely disgusting!!! I am totally appalled by explicit content noted in the video. My outlook on lulu as drastically changed!

Hi Deann,
Thanks for taking the time to share this with us. The content was created as an April Fool’s joke. Know that we are sympathetic to the ethical treatment of animals.

how is the sheer factor on the tanks – are we going to have problems in a couple of months???

Comment by Jody — April 1, 2013 @ 10:11 am

Hi Jody,
The Practice Freely Tank is made of lightweight Jersey and the Flow and Go Tank is created out of Micro Diamond Mesh, both are great for keeping cool during the hottest of hot yoga classes. The rest of the tanks will range in their level of coverage as they are made of luon, luon light or luxtreme. Let me know if there is a particular tank you are curious about and I can provide this insight for you. Thanks for reaching out with your tank inquiry!

Is the cool racerback going to come out in aquamarine or in beach blanket blue?

Comment by BVreeland — April 2, 2013 @ 3:05 pm

Hi BVreeland,
While Aquamarine and Beach Blanket Blue are new colours we are seeing, there haven’t been whispers on if we’ll see these in the Cool Racerback. I know we do tend to see a style like the Cook Racerback in many of our colours so there’s a good chance we will see them – keep an eye on your product notifications for more details.
