accessories & lagerfield: katie’s love list

My name is Katie, and I’m the lead designer for accessories at lululemon. It’s my mission in life to transform lives, one bag at a time. This is my love list.

lululemon bag designer - katies lost list
Websites: My Saturday mornings are consumed by the following:

Magazines: Nylon, Vogue, Marie Claire. US versions are a monthly must—I treat myself to the international versions when I travel.

lululemon items to work out in: I’m a basic kinda gal. Give me a Flow Y Bra, an oversized Racerback tank and some Wunder Unders and I’m good to go.

Way to sweat: Hot vinyasa flow. If Vancouver ever got a Baptiste studio, I’d die.

Film: I’ve got a three-way tie going on at the moment: Lagerfeld Confidential, Valentino: The Last Emperor, and Unzipped. I love watching documentaries about crazy fashion designers. I heart Karl hugely.

Place to run: My absolute most favourite runs were when I was in high school and would run cross country in the fall—I love the smell of wet leaves and running through all the colours.

Font: Times New Roman. Again, basics kinda gal.

Way to spend a Sunday morning: Stretchy pants, a hot bowl of oatmeal, and a cat in my lap.

Katie might claim to be basic, but she has serious style. you’re making Vancouver more stylish just by being here lady :)

I love all the thought that goes into the products, but I am not loving the cheeping of them. The prices stay up, but the quality does down.

My Manifesto-tee that I loved when I bought it, ripped after wearing it once. Reason – the material was simply two thin, when I took it back to the store I was told “that’s the nature of the product”

I read this and it’s just ironic that the designer talked about Valentino, another line that the prices stay high, and the quality is going down.
