For me,yoga is not just something I do on a sticky mat, in fact, it is after doing yoga that I actually feel the benefits or experience the changes. My focus is clearer in my music, my strength and endurance is noticable in my woodworking or gardening, and my peace is so evident in my just being able to relax and sleep so much more soundly. Yoga is the beginning of my life, and my life is the continuation of it.

I find that once I stop approaching yoga as something I do on a sticky mat and realize that it's a way of life, part of my being, there is no longer any lack of motivation or effort needed to find time to practice. Every part of the day is a part of the practice.

"I don’t need to wander to find time for my practice. I just need to roll out my mat."

So true. Often I feel chained to the routine of making it to class- and when I can't, it's hard to motivate myself to practice in my own home. I'm not sure why! I think being in the studio itself is powerful for me. If I can get TO the studio, my motivation will come while I'm there. Home is different. Maybe I need a dedicated yoga area :)

I'm glad you had an experience that made you realize why you fell in love with yoga in the first place. That happened to me recently, too! I'm reading "The Tenth Door" by Michele Hebert, which is a memoir about the author's spiritual training in the 1970s in San Francisco - http://http://www.rajayogis.net/

I was reading her story and was so inspired. I went to yoga for the first time because I had back pain and wanted to strengthen my core. I stayed because yoga is a whole lifestyle- and I can't deny that the spiritual aspect is my favorite part.

Thanks for sharing your wanderlust.
