meet britt: black is back

I’m Britt and I have the scoop on black stretchy pants

You guys ask us great questions and we love it. Getting your feedback on what you love (and don’t love) helps us design and innovate for you.

We're kicking it up a notch with personal responses to anything that’s on your mind. I want to hear all your feedback and questions, even the weird ones. (Especially the weird ones.) All you have to do is ask on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or here on the blog, and I’ll get you answers face to face. Well, my face to your screen.

Black luon bottoms are arriving back in stores in June. They’re a hot topic, so here’s what’s up:

in case you were under a rock...

You may have missed that we had some issues with our black luon bottoms. The luon setback allowed us to take a hard look at every aspect of this fabric and how we design. Your (extremely) honest feedback made this possible. Thank you!

130531_groove_b

how did we get black back?

luon is still the moisture-wicking, four-way stretch, high Lycra content, cottony-soft fabric that we want to wear every day. So our recipe for luon hasn't changed. But our testing and checking has, big time.

How? There’s a pretty long list, but here are a few examples.

First, we added tighter new standards and specifications to our testing and development. In fact, your stretchy pants go through about 15 tests to make sure you get great ass coverage (that’s the scientific term).

And speaking of science, we even got some university scientists to help us develop a "sheer-o-metre" to help us measure sheerness in our fabrics.

We’ve also re-engineered our luon bottom patterns in each and every style to minimize the stretching of the fabric. Basically, that means there’s now more fabric across the bum so it's not stretched from the get-go.

130531_groove2_b

let’s get real about sheerness

luon is a knit fabric – if you stretch a knit fabric far enough, it will go sheer. That’s why the right fit is key. (Check out this fit guide I made.) But what makes our bottoms great is the amazing technical benefits they provide. Fit, style, colour, performance, beauty – finding the perfect mix is what keeps us innovating and what makes us love doing what we do.

this is just the beginning

We are innovating around fabric every day, and your feedback is what makes this possible. So tell us what you think! If you have any questions, just ask me!

---
Editor's update: In our initial back-in-black blog post we said that we had re-engineered the patterns of every luon bottom. This was a miscommunication on our part and we want to clarify that we’ve only needed to re-engineer the pattern of the wunder unders to add more fabric across the bum so it’s not stretched from the get-go. Every other luon bottom has been thoroughly reviewed and our entire product development process and tightened up standards and specifications from start to finish to make sure all of the product in our stores meets our technical standards.

My question is: WHEN WILL WUNDER UNDERS BE BACK?!?!???? yesss all caps was necessary, I need a new black pair NOW!

And nooo I don’t mean “in June” like WHEN?! Next week, Tuesday…specifics needed

Comment by Mikayla — May 31, 2013 @ 5:45 pm

I recently tried on two colours of your gather and grow crops (grey and purple) in your Robson store in Vancouver and I found them to be extremely sheer as well (regardless of size – I went up and down a size just to try it out). Are you doing anything to improve that as well? I was hesitant to buy any pants and passed on them!

Comment by Danielle — May 31, 2013 @ 6:34 pm

I know that summer is coming up but was wondering when you were going to get more of your longer wunder unders in more colors in stores (not just in the black)? i’m really not seeing any in stores (or not in my size)!

Comment by Susan — May 31, 2013 @ 8:12 pm

Hi Susan,
Summer is for sure a time we see lots of fun colours in lots of our favourite styles begin to come out. At this time we are really digging into our black luon release, but keep your eyes peeled as we lead further into the warmer months. And if you haven’t already, take a sec to sign up for Product Notification emails. That way you’ll be sure not to miss out when a colour you love lands online. Hi Danielle,
Thanks so much for your feedback. It’s super great to get the inside scoop on how our Guest’s are feeling when they try on our gear. Some of our coloured luon offers less coverage then darker hues, but we are hearing the voices of our Guest’s who love coloured pants but don’t feel comfortable wearing them for that reason. For right now I’d always recommend trying light coloured luon on in-store to ensure you feel confidant, and in the mean time I will make sure a little bird chirps in the design teams ears with your feedback.

Hi Mikayla,
I totally love your enthusiasm for our black luon! I live in mine 24/7 so I feel your anticipation. As I am sure you know, we don’t have any set date for this re-stock. But know that we are working hard to make it as soon as possible. Keep checking the website and sign up for Product Notification emails if you haven’t already. Here’s a link to sign up: http://shop.lululemon.com/products/category/whats-new?mnid=mn;whats-new, and for sure let us know how our black luon is wearing for you once you get your hands on a pair!

When will a swim line for men come to stores?

Comment by Graham — June 1, 2013 @ 8:53 am

Hi Graham,
This is a perfect question for Britt! As a woman who lives on the West Coast, she certainly has appreciation for great men’s swimwear. I personally haven’t heard anything coming down the grapevine to this, but I know it has been on our minds a lot lately. In the meantime, check out our Pace Breaker Short. Quite a few of the water loving men here in the office love them for ocean excursions, but still avoid chlorinated pools as best practice. Here’s a link so you can check them out: http://shop.lululemon.com/products/clothes-accessories/men-shorts/Pace-Breaker-Short?cc=10975&skuId=3499632&catId=men-shorts.

I’m curious…I called your NYC stores and could not get anyone to answer the phone at any location.

So I’m wondering…does Lululemon realize that the best retailers -Saks, Barneys, etc- have actually figured out how to answer the phones AND provide superior in-store customer service?

You’re looking kind of bush league from down here…

She’s the one from the product sneak peek video from Fall 2010? Glad she’s still with the company!

Help! Please, please, please bring back the Heart Rate Monitor bra!

(pretty please)

This is the only heart rate solution that doesn’t give me terrible chafing. I would really love to buy more!

Comment by Kathy — June 2, 2013 @ 5:34 am

Why do you only offer yoga clothing from size 12 and down? I am tall, very fit and wear a 14. Can LULULEMON be in the same category as another very well known clothing line (starts with an A) that does not want their clothes on someone who is “not cool”? Please LULULEMON offer your clothing in larger sizes, the average American woman is a size 16.

Comment by Debbie — June 2, 2013 @ 6:40 am

PUMPED!!!!! I thought lululemon had made the gravest possible mistake and took the black groove pant out of production. Good to hear you are listening to the consumers. Thank you for upholding you commitment to quality!

Comment by Britt — June 2, 2013 @ 2:29 pm

Why do you insist it’s the same luon, “just a different formula” when some luon contains high polyester content? Isn’t polyester a bad idea for “sweaty pursuits”? Also it’s time for you to own the fact that all the ebb and flows and in the flows are sheer, regardless of sizing up. They are way overpriced pantyhose. You can see everything. What a joke! Time to bring back the quality of years past and stop trying to pull the luon over our eyes (we can see the truth through it).

Comment by Deanna — June 2, 2013 @ 4:50 pm

No offense here, but maybe you could have simply reverted to your old, completely-not-see-through formula. I get that you have to save face ‘n’ all, but your see-through pant thing wasn’t an issue for quite a long time (because, koff-koff, you made great pants) and I’m not clear why you needed to go so far as to change the pattern for your pants when you could have just started using quality fabric again. Your “luon” continues to feel like cheapness in comparison to your old fabrics — and I say this having been a regular, if not loyal, customer for almost ten years. Stop cutting corners and start making quality product again, already. The “new” luon is still see-through, just slightly less so. Actually, it’s pretty audacious for you to continue to release semi-transparent pants.

Comment by J. — June 2, 2013 @ 8:26 pm

I’m looking forward to trying the new black luon pants with improved ass coverage. I was turned off them in the past because their sheerness but the commitment to quality and humor here has convinced me to give them another go, Thanks.

Comment by Nik — June 2, 2013 @ 8:29 pm

Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us, Debbie. I’d love to dig in deeper with you around what you’d like to see in future and the feedback you have on our current product. Were the certain items that you tried on that didn’t work for you? And if yes, was it the fit in general, or was it something specific like the length, or the built-in bra or the arm circumference etc? Also, are you specifically looking for yoga gear in a larger range, or our other product too? The more details the better as it helps us understand what our guests are after. We are passionate about product innovation and I will share your thoughts with our design teams so they may take them into consideration as they continue to develop new product that support the sweaty pursuits of our guests.

I’m with Debbie. I am sure you have people working for your stores — possibly Britt included, though it’s very hard to tell of course — who wear a larger than a 12. It’s not about “What would you like us to offer?” How about simply clothes larger than a size 12? That would be a good start.

I have never understood the waist size in your sizing charts. There is not a single Lulu pant that actually fits at the waist. Couldn’t you give a measurement for upper hips and lower hips? Its very tricky to get the right size

Comment by Terese Sirek — June 3, 2013 @ 4:40 pm

Hey Pilates Classes Main Line,
When we found out that some of our black luon pants were meeting our high standards, we took them off our shelves. Since then, we have been working hard to understand what had caused this and what we can change and put in place to ensure the product we are creating are meeting our expectations. From what we have learnt, we have now put in place specific measures like re-working the patterns of our luon bottom in all styles to minimize the stretching of the fabric. This blog is celebrating the return of our black luon bottoms and is getting into the nitty gritty of what we have changed. Britt will be sharing more inside scoops on our product and answering some of those burning questions our guests have.

i didn’t realize until the abercrombie debacle that lulu doesn’t carry larger sizes. i greatly apologize for my ignorance. i think that is pretty cruel to be honest since your whole mantra is to sweat once a day. i think the goal would be to have EVERYONE sweat once a day not those who only wear a size 2. i’ve noticed that in the stores as well ESPECIALLY the one on halsted in chicago that you are looked down upon the second you mention a larger size. i wear a size 8 which is think is fairly far from overweight, considering i’m a marathon runner, an avid pilates fan as well as someone who has conquered P90X, insanity and the asylum. make everyone feel welcomed in your store lulu – especially at $108 / pair of pants

Comment by maura — June 4, 2013 @ 2:15 pm

Hey Terese,
Great question and I often wondered this one myself! Having bust, waist and hip measurements is fairly standard for all apparel sizing charts. Some of our pants like the Still Grounded Pant that have a higher rise will take into account your waist. Though, how do you size yourself when looking at medium to low rise items? I’d recommend going by your hip measurement. What you are looking to measure is the widest part of your hip area, not necessarily where your hip bones are. Let me know if you have any other questions!

I love my lulu pants, and wear them regularly. I was fortunate enough that I do fit well into your size 12′s and now into 10′s and 8′s depending on the pant. HOWEVER, I really do not agree that this is as Large as you can go.. and I definitely don’t agree with your size chart calling a size 12 an Extra Large, since WHEN is a size 12 extra large, in most other stores you can find 13 and 14 in with regular sizes.
It would be really nice to see your sizes at LEAST up till size 14.
As someone who has worked to loose weight and has moved from size 16 & 18 to a size twelve and from a REGULAR extra large to fitting into large and medium. To go into Lulu and have to look for “Extra Large” sizes is a little discouraging.

When can I exchange my pants? I have about 6 pairs that are very see through

Comment by Gabi — June 6, 2013 @ 9:12 pm

I totally agree with Debbie, I wish there were more options for larger athletes. I am six feet tall and work out every single day- but I always joke that my skeleton is probably a size ten…before you add any curves! I can wear a 12 Groove pant because it is a forgiving cut, but I would love to be able to buy Lululemon’s more tailored clothing for high-impact workouts like running and tennis. Why should we shut out an entire class of athletes who aren’t stick thin?

Comment by Maeve — June 7, 2013 @ 11:45 am

I love, love, love the versatility and style of my coal- colored QUICK STEP PANT. I can run, jog, plank, dance and zumba in them:-) Please consider reproducing them again?! I have received many, many compliments and I’m positive you will get a lot of interested customers in purchasing these amazing and comfy pants. P.s. they’re way cuter than your studio pants, just sayin’…..

Comment by Chi — June 8, 2013 @ 3:39 pm

I went to my local store this weekend and I was glad to see that black pants were back! The only thing I noticed is they were still more shear than my old lulu’s. I have a pair from 10 years ago and they have been worn extensively; no matter how hard I stretch them there is absolutely no shearness. I am holding on tighter and tighter to my old items because the quality is no longer the same.

Comment by sticklerforquality — June 10, 2013 @ 8:29 am

Thanks for the update. Lulu gets a great deal of my money and 99% of the time, I’m quite happy with the product. The sole exception are the “game on boxers”. I’ve had many of the issues that are spoken about on the review page for the underwear. My simple hope was that a few people were being dramatic. But the fact is that many, many people have extremely similar, negative reviews for the underwear. Why is it that Lulu, who prides themselves on quality at an extremely high price point, simply disregards so many negative reviews of a product? I continue to see new colors of the underwear and right along with them, more negative reviews. Clearly, underwear is not returnable. But continuing to allow customers to buy product that last months at best is simply bad business. Is anything being done to eradicate this issue?

Comment by Mike — June 10, 2013 @ 10:58 pm

I have to agree with the others who are speaking up about lack of larger sizes. I too work out regularly doing spin classes and pilates. I have found a few styles of pants that fit – however, the tops are either too skimpy or tight for a women who actually has breasts and is not super thin. It would be great to see larger sizes and more generously cut tops with coverage. I am sure it is just as frustrating for you to see women squeezing into ill fitting lululemon as it is for us fuller figured ladies not to find a size and style that flatters and looks great.

Comment by Kris — June 11, 2013 @ 4:56 am

Hi,

Could you tell me if the Invert Crops will be coming back? I really loved the way they felt and the high waist. Please consider bringing them back!

Comment by Kathleen — June 11, 2013 @ 4:58 am

I love Lulu. In fact, the size range was the kick in the rear to diet and exercise from a size 16 to a size 10.

HOWEVER, I have concerns that you don’t stand by your products. The 2 week, tags on policy is ridiculous for WORKOUT clothes. How will we know if the product will work for us if we can’t WEAR IT???

Before I found Lulu, I was an Athleta girl. Anytime returns, worn and sweated in.
I assume for the prices Lulu charges that this would not break the bank.

I am sure that I am not the only “guest” who is aware of this.
That said I LOVE Lulu.

Hi there, I want to know the same, WHEN ARE BLACK OR DARK COLOR WONDER UNDERS BACK??? I have been told by MANY stores around the country that I visit that first week of June but that has long passed:( I hope as soon as you make your black better they will be released..I need and want new ones badly!! thanks!!!!!

Comment by Laura — June 11, 2013 @ 6:18 am

Hi Britt,
OMG my manners!
Welcome to Lulu, and take heed of our thoughts, they are good “food for thought”.

Comment by Sandy C. — June 11, 2013 @ 6:19 am

I feel the same as a lot of people on here. I am PRAYING my old Lulu crops and pants will not die on me….That said, the new material really is “cheap” I’m sorry but as a loyal customer, I’ve always paid good money for your good quality attire. I haven’t spent a lot of money shopping here online or in stores for the reason the “quality” doesn’t seem there anymore. What happened to the old fabric??? Why change an already good thing?
I find I too am “jumping” from size to size because I can’t find a great fit with the new material.

Please, please bring the old stuff back!

Comment by Whitney — June 11, 2013 @ 7:58 am

Please go back to the good old quality luon from before. Never had quality or sizing issues before. Luon used to be longlasting, comfortable and a perfect fit every time.
Although I have not had sheerness issues, I still have not been happy with my “recent” lulu purchases. Pants looking worn way before their time (yes, I am folowing washing instructions) and weird fit. I have come out from your stores empity-handed in so many occasions in the past year.
I hope your new formula goes back to the quality you guys used to have. I can’t hardly wait to finally replace my old luon bottoms for some new worthy ones!
Also, please bring back Astro crops!!!

Comment by Jules — June 11, 2013 @ 8:51 am

Thanks for the update. I was excited to get another pair of black groove pants but was disappointed when I did not see any tall sizes. Will you all be bringing the tall black groove pant back? If so, when?

Comment by mtd — June 11, 2013 @ 10:19 am

I keep asking your company when the street to studio crop will be coming back. I would like to purchase a few pairs. I keep getting an evasive answer. Why can’t Lululemon give their customers a straight answer?

Comment by Angela Faverin — June 11, 2013 @ 10:53 am

I am going to sound like a broken record here… I am an avid lulu fan and have been for almost 10yrs BUT your luon fabric has changed since my first purchases and no one at the company addresses this despite many loyal customers stating the obvious time and time again. My first purchase was in May 2004 at your Whistler, BC store. It was a pair of cobalt groove crops and a white deep v tank (I was pretty excited to buy these!). I still wear these and wash them no differently than the black groove pants I purchased 2yrs ago. Yet the cobalt crops have never pilled or gotten that fuzzy look that my black ones now have. I have many MANY pieces over the years that I can compare the fabric quality. I really hope the new luon fabric goes back to the feel and durability of the old version from years ago and not the thin material that has been used recently.

Comment by Roxy — June 11, 2013 @ 7:07 pm

Please come out w petite size pant lengths……please, please, please, pleazzzze. Especially the studio pants with and without liners as I love to keep the drawstring. Pleaseeeeee. Also, why about half your jackets always tight around the arms / chest area. You need to cut with more room up there. We’re not all size 2. We actually workout and have muscles in the arms. Any chance you can come out with a loose fitting line? Like relax fit. Sometimes bythe end of the day, I just have to take off lulu cootes cuz it’s too form fitting. I love a loose fitting sweatshirt / sweatpants line. Why your prices keep going up so high? Wunder unders use to only cost about $68 two years ago and now the pants run $98. Wow. Why ur sales sometimes don’t seem like a sale? Prices still too high for sale items.

Comment by Thuy — June 11, 2013 @ 10:41 pm

I have tried on the ‘new’ black luon – still sheer. I tried my regular size 4 and even sized up to a 6. Both were sheer and the 6 was definitely too big. Too bad – thought with this mess LLL would go back to that which made us all addicts in the first place.
I would just like to say that it is getting a little tiresome shopping for LLL items. Trying to find some items is like trying to find Waldo. What is the purpose of having different items available online, than what it available in store? And the variation from store to store is also frustrating. I am one hour from my closest store so driving there to try something on and finding out they don’t even have it is beyond frustrating (and yes, I’m signed up for all my store newsletters and the general LLL newsletter – it does not help with the search for products at all). And of course when you ask if they will be getting a product in, you are lucky to get even a vague answer. Items on the Canadian website differ from items on the US website (I thought LLL was a Canadian company – why don’t we see everything first, or at least at the same time?). Product marked down in the store is not marked down on the website, and vice versa. Or I can read in reviews that people are getting products at half price in their local stores (which is not my local store) but the item is still full price on the website and in my store. How can I feel anything but ripped off if I have to pay full price for an item that someone else did not?
It should not be such a hassle to buy LLL products. Period.

Comment by P. — June 12, 2013 @ 7:00 am

The men’s zip ups have changed. They are now shorter and wider rather than a longer “athletic” fit. Please bring the old sizing back. Would also be nice to see some polos that fit my size a bit better. I’m 6’2 about 220 lbs and lift weights and work out 5 days/week. An XL in most of the t-shirts fits me perfectly as does a medium or 34 in shorts but I’ve found the polos to be short or too tight in the arms and some of the zip-ups to be wide and short.

I ONLY wear Lulu and in need of a new hoodie.

Comment by Roman — June 12, 2013 @ 8:46 am

I don’t understand why Lululemon can’t resume using the old fabrics and patterns that everyone loved so much. Seriously, what is the problem? All we want is a decent pair of yoga pants and to not be totally ripped off when we buy them.

Comment by Alix — June 12, 2013 @ 12:38 pm

Hi –

I see several comments about sizing…Lululemon is missing out on many many Moms who are healthy, love to work out, are in the stage of life where we have the money to spend on high quality clothes but don’t shop at Lululemon due to the sizes available / not available. A size 12, 14 is still within the range of “healthy” for many women. I would think, especially for work out gear, that women who are not tiny should have the same options as others the single digit women.

Comment by Lyn — June 12, 2013 @ 2:08 pm

Are you aware there are Facebook groups that people buy and sell “vintage” lululemon clothing just to have the quality material prior to products being manufactured overseas. Just saying you could have saved the time with the sheerness scientists and just went back to your old product material . These are people who could still be buying your new products rather than scavenging Facebook…

Comment by jr — June 12, 2013 @ 4:52 pm

First of all I LOVE LULU clothing – so I was super excited when I saw that the wunder under crops were back in in black. I immediately tried on my size (4) and noticed that they were See Through. The store consultant told me that they were too small and that the new ones for smaller so I tried on a 6 – still see through. I left without purchasing any and disappointed. Have you had other concerns on these new crops?

Comment by Ashley Davey — June 12, 2013 @ 7:46 pm

Are petite sized pants ever coming? I know I can get them hemmed in shop, but this is sometimes not practical. I’d love to be able buy my sized pants in a shorter length online and in stores.

I really need new black Wonder Unders because i had to return me two old ones after my roommate saw me bend over and could see the color of my under ware (Note- i had worn those exact leggings to multiple yoga classes!). I’m getting really tired of waiting and getting vague answers on when they are coming back. Also, I have been buying LLL products for years and your quality has gone down! Your products are very expensive and I expect the best quality but I have not seen that recently and I’m talking about just this recent scandal with the Wunder Unders. So What I”m asking is could you please give me a date on when your black Wunder Unders are coming backe and if these are still sheer then I think I will buy yoga pants somewhere else.

Comment by M. — June 12, 2013 @ 11:16 pm

Hey M,
Our black Wunder Unders have been trickling back into stores and your best bet is to keep an eye out on your local stores product notification or give them a ring to see if they have any on their shelves. No exact date is available for this as it will vary depending on where you are. Thanks for sharing your concerns and frustrations with us and I will pass along this feedback.

Re; new black wunder under crops. I took both the 6 and 8 because the Educator said both worked and I could not decide in the fitting room. Size 8 feels a bit better but when I am sitting or bending there seems to be some extra material in the lower tummy and pelvic area…is this just going to get worse? The smaller size gives a bit of muffin top and feels a wee bit too confining, but no extra material in the area which feels better. Sigh, what’s a girl to do! I just want some comfy new crops! Advice on the fit?

Hi Britt,
I have been waiting and hoping to see a luon jacket with a hood. I know there is one-the surf one but I am really not into the colour blocking. I would love to see a Forme jacket with a hood. I find the Scuba hoodies too thick and I know there are lighter weight terry versions but I feel like a black one would fade too much when washed.
Thanks,

HI I have patiently been waiting on the return of your wunder unders in black in the store. I was very excited when I visited my local store tonight to fine them in stock however I was so so so disappointing as when I tried them on they were so sheer. I tried on multiple sizes as I really wanted for them to work but sadly I had the same result with both the 6 and the 8. I own several pairs of your pants and really badly want the wunders. can you please tell me if they are going to be bringing back the great Luon material from the past.

Thank you for your time

Is there a way to pre-order black Astro’s either online or in store?…or will it be first-come-first-serve?

Just wondering if groove pants/crops will ever be coming back??? Love the feel and fit and just need more!

Hey Judi and Ashley,
Sorry to hear that you are not loving the Wunder Under Pants that you tried on. In addition to thoroughly reviewing our entire product development process and tightening up fabric specifications and tolerances from start to finish, we’ve also re-engineered the patterns to take stress off the areas that tend to be stretched the most. We are confident in these improvements and that the product in our stores meets our very high standards. What’s most important is that you feel comfortable and confident in your gear. If you aren’t, let us know and we work with you to find something that supports your sweaty pursuit of choice. We are always looking for ways to elevate and innovate so keep sharing your experiences as they make this possible. Thanks for reaching out with your concern. Let me know if there is anything else that I can help you with.

Hey wca,
I’d go by which you feel most comfortable in and which is going to meet your performance needs. If you are going to use them for yoga for example, try some poses and see how they feel on. Bend, twist, move and make the call on which one to go for based on that, as this is when fit is most critical.

Hey Stephanie,
Yes, it will be first come first serve as we don’t have a pre-order system in place. Though if you do get to the store and the Astro Pants are all gone, not to worry, more will be on their way over the coming weeks and months, both in store and online.

Hey Nikole,
Groove Pants have already started to pop up online and in stores and more will roll out as the season continues. The Groove Crops are a seasonal style for us, so they will come and go. I haven’t heard any word if we’ll be seeing them this season, though will be sure to share your love for them with our designers.

I just want to say, already the level at which LULU responds to customer feedback is INCREDIBLE. Seeing the responses on the website and in the store, paired with the transparency on the news, well, you can color me impressed.

I have 6 year old pairs of wunder unders. Black on one side, crackled dark purple snake like print on the other side. I have since bought wayyyyy toooo much merchandise but still, those first pair, are by far, my favorite.

BRING THEM BACK!!!!

The best part about those original pair were the fact they were reversible and not sheer and over the years have only increased in comfort level (they’ve softly stretched a little but not turned sheer and fit even better now). But I bought a couple other pairs of reversible and I don’t know if you guys changed the reversible material or not specifically, but they are not the same. They feel more lycra and more sheer. They also feel more stiff and tight.
I miss the old black wunder unders (crops and regular) and I miss the quality version of the soft luon that was also reversible.

I still love what you guys are doing, I just miss the black yogi’s soft and awesome.

Thanks for being the people you guys are. It’s refreshing in today’s business world.

I have to agree with the comment about the groove crops! Love them and miss them! Hopefully they will consider bringing them out this season! I asked at the store yesterday if they would hem the groove pant into a crop length but they said that would affect the integrity of the fabric and they are no longer offering that as an option.

Hey,
I love everything Lulu but the only bra of yours that works for me is the TaTa Tamer. I wear it just about everyday. However that really limits the tanks that I can wear, crossing the straps doesn’t work very well. Any chance you are working on more strapped tanks? or even better a Racerback Tata Tamer!? If you do, don’t forget the larger sizes for the girls with Tata’s that actually need to be tamed!

Will the Dart and Dash be making a comeback this summer? Those are my favorite shorts and I have lost enough weight that I need a smaller size.

Thanks :)

What about the luxtreme? When is Lulu going to address the sheerness issue happening with luxtreme pants and crops? The reviews on products are unreal. Why is Lululemon ignoring this?

Comment by mellybelly — June 14, 2013 @ 6:49 pm

Lululemon….what is wrong with you? I’ve already emailed you the picture of two items that I own, where the size 8 is way smaller than the size 6. You are shrinking sizes. Maddening. Now I want to tell you that I’m 118 pounds, and 5’4. I wear a size large in lululemon underwear. I can actually only wear them to bed because the are too tight to wear under anything else. I will officially boycott you from now on because the world needs less of this sort of crap.

I purchased a pair of Wonder Under Pants and was in love… Until they started to pill and develop holes (due to the fact that I was constantly pulling them up, I was told by an employee that luon tends to slide off), I returned them four months very disappointed. I have a store credit and I am hesitant to purchase a new pair. My request is, a high rise Wonder Under! I want to feel “locked and loaded”, not about to lose my pants!

Hi Cathy,
When did you send in your email to us and which email address did you send it to? If you have no received a response, I recommend reaching out to us via phone for a chat, 1.877.263.9300. We want to chat further with you about the two pieces that you noticed were inconsistent with the rest of your size 6 gear.

Please go back to your old quality. We all know lulu lemon cut corners to increase their stock price. Now that the founder and other stock holders have had a chance to sell out, please go back to the quality which justified your prices and not these sad target like products.

I have a gift card I can not spend. Its like getting a gift card to a fancy restaurant only to find out the restaurant changed its menu and only sells big macs now. Still food, but the quality is all different. Please return to your old quality. At least one jacket and one pair of pants in your better quality. I just can’t stand to see good ideas wasted. Fix this. And I’m glad you love my passion*. (*sarcasm)

Hi Somerlea
Thank you for your reply I agree that your customer service is fantastic but the Wunder’s I am afraid not so much. I don’t feel like this is a product that is worth the money, and I have no problem spending money in your store. The manager did try to justify that this was a product that you are happy to sell which saddens me I LOVE the Wunder Under they are my go to pant. I really wish you would go back to the Luon product of a few years ago and you would have extremely happy customers and a huge increase in sales I am sure.

Thanks for your time

Lululemon,

I love your apparel – great quality! However, I am becoming less of a lover when I see you are actually eliminating sizes. Many of your “new” stuff only runs up to size 10, which is extremely limiting! If you want to embrace women’s curves and boost our self-image, then you should be extending the sizes, not doing the opposite. Your sizes tend to run extremely small anyway, so when someone is really a 10, they require nearly a 14 in “lulu sizes”.

Lulu, what is the thinking behind the sizing?
