re-ignite your goals

goal wall

Try this at home. Post your goals to kindle your inspiration.

How are you feeling about your goals now that the New Year's hype is behind you? Maybe that January 1st gusto has dwindled a bit. Sometimes it helps to see what others are up to. We spied on some goals around the office to spark our inspiration. We got chills. Hopefully you do too.

tips for staying motivated

"I surround myself with a community of goal setters. This makes it easier to bring my goals into our day-to-day conversations, meaning I already have a clear vision of what my future looks like just by talking about it often." - Carolyn

"The energy you give out is the energy you receive in return. Everyday I know that I am the one that is responsible for making my energy a great one. Setting goals keeps me motivated and excited for what’s to come which breeds some amazing energy for all." - Laurie

"I share my goals with anyone and everyone. Bringing them up in conversation keeps them in the front of my mind and enrolls those around me to keep me on track." - Katie

What a great post – was just saying to a friend I bought a new Moleskine set to keep track of what I’m doing right and wrong (so you can learn) with respect to my goals. It really helps keep me on track now that we are 3 weeks into the new year and you can see people losing steam/falling off the wagon.

I’ve been taking baby steps toward my health by working out 5 days a week (I tell myself to go to the gym for 20 minutes and of course I end up staying for over an hour). Am keeping track of my diet with the Livestrong calorie tracker. I have yoga, bootcamp and running apps to keep me motivated. Budget apps for my finances and food apps for my culinary adventures (which also helps my finances if I’m eating out less).

Currently working on my vision board to help me visualize my goals. I am going to have one physical one in my place and a digital copy as my homescreen so I can take it with me everywhere I go! :). Seeing is believing. :)

Thanks for the inspiration, lulus! I love the public sharing of these goals and the incredibly supportive culture around pushing oneself to set, strive for and celebrate achieving goals!

Glad you’re writing again Elissa! I loved this post and some of the goals I share. Ted Gobal here we come! You’re a brilliant writer and artist keep it up (and tell me when you and steve are next in Melbourne).

Elissa – I LOVE this post! What a great idea to post your goals and keep them front and center. I may just have to do this….. :) Sylvia

YES! You’re so on track Aleksandra! Amazing. I recently picked up a new Moleskine (sexy red one, of course) and it’s become my third arm. It’s always there. The accountability and inspiration it fosters is awesome. Love the apps too. (We’ve got a sweet must-have apps post coming soon….stay tuned.) As for the vision board, I love the idea of having it as your homescreen. I think I just may spread that one around the office if that’s cool with you. :) LOVE it. Glad you liked the post.

Hey Paul! Thanks for the compliment! It’s good to be back at it. We’ll be SURE to connect when we’re in Melbourne next. (Little Mr. Watts included.)

Thanks for the kind words, everyone! I’m glad the post inspired you all! I’m working on three big things right now: staying fit during my pregnancy (to be back in my normal jeans by the time our little family moves to the UK), documenting my family’s tradition of Christmas baking in a book (It’s epic…think 12 pounds of butter epic), and taking the lululemon blog to new amazing heights! What are you all working on?

I love the layout of the page…do you have a template for it?

Comment by Kara — January 19, 2011 @ 1:40 pm

Are you looking for a template of the pages that are on the wall? If you are, you’re in luck. Let me know.

Comment by Elissa Joy — January 19, 2011 @ 2:21 pm

Hey Liss….LOVE this! Dad and I sat down together the week-end of New Years and talked through the key areas we wanted to address. Then we each spent time quietly writing. Sharing our goals and seeing where they overlapped was really great, and then helped us to formulate a plan.
I LOVE the idea of having them posted in a prominent place! So awesome for keeping personal accountability.
It is so encouraging to know that change and growth are always possible, and that we can continue to pursue excellence, no matter what our age!!!

I would like to know about those templates too :) Thanks :)

There is something wrong with the goaltender website – when you achieve a goal, and set it to 100% complete, it does not save. The goal disappears, and you are at 0 – not very motivating!

I would love to see a template for the goal sheet too!! :)

Hey guys! I’m so glad that the post is continuing to inspire you. It’s too bad you’re not here at the office to hear the daily stories of goals being acheived! It’s awesome. We’ll be posting one funny story soon. :) In the meantime, you can be inspired by your own amazing goals by filling out the goal worksheet that’s on this page: http://lululemon.com/education/goalsetting

It’s halfway down the page. Enjoy!

Hi,

Laura, I loved reading about your goals, how do I find a template like the one in the picture of the visual interpretations of your goals?

I work from home and would love to see my goals like this on my computer as my wall paper everyday.

Hi laura,

Thanks so much for your reply, I have that template now thanks, but I meant the template in the picture that shows little photos in frames on a computer screen with the goals written underneath where it says underneath the picture, “We are equally inspired by Laura’s goals and her visual interpretations of them” Is it done on a specific program?

many thanks. :)

Hi Lydia,
Still no word on the template used for Laura’s goals. Best to play around with your own visual representation of your goals and make it your own!

Hi Lydia,

Turns out the format was trickier to put into a word document than I had originally thought ! I’m still trying and will post when it’s complete.

Thank you checking in,

Laura
