I love this! I think it's so important to take time and look back on our accomplishments and identify areas for improvement. Like Carolyn said, keeping goals visible has been so key for me over the past year. As I do each year, this past December 31st, I made my vision board for 2012 and it's posted prominently on my closet door. That way, I'm forced to look at it every morning and remind myself what I'm striving for. I also blogged about it, and always state my monthly goals on my blog. There's something about telling other people (regardless of whether or not you know them!) that holds me more accountable. For 2012, I'm planning to run another half marathon, and complete my 1-year program which will make me a certified Health Coach. Best of luck to all of you on your 2012 goals!! :)

Like Laura, I discovered that the word "by" in a goal was an important little word...very different to "on". The word "by" leaves all possibilities open and allows the goal to be flexible, which means you can move it up in the order of things anywhere it fits within the time frame you've allowed yourself. And isn't that what yoga is all about...being flexible?

Best wishes

Carolyn I love your point about keeping your goals visible. I've debated with creating a vision board to keep things in perspective but never quite completed the task. You've inspired me to do so. :)

Really liked how Carolyn touched on keeping your goals visible to hold yourself accountable, it's so true! I highly recommend using notebooks/calendars/visual aids/social media to make your goals public/visible- they'll help you to stay focused and take responsibility for what you set out to achieve. ROCK ON Katie, Matt, Laura and Carolyn- so inspiring!!
