Whitney,

I absolutely love following your posts. I ran a marathon about 4 years ago and am trying to get back into the swing of training and feel so inspired by your weekly updates. And so inspired by your San Diego pics ... as well as your role lululemon. And if lululemon San Diego has any future open positions, please keep me in mind. I think I would be a perfect fit ... and a great running partner :-)

Good luck!!

All the best,
Katie

Love your story. I am running the AFC Half too. This will be my first! I relate to your story. I had debilitating back pain for years, it got to the point where I couldn't play tennis anymore. Hell, I couldn't bend down in the morning to fill my dog's water dish. Through nutrition and body work changes, I started running and feel stronger and better than ever. 11 miles tomorrow! See you at the half.

Your posts are so inspiring!
Having asthma has always been my excuse for not running, but reading about your success has inspired me to get out there and see what I can do!

Hi Christine,

The girl hitting is wearing a 4, I am in the middle wearing a 6, and the girl standing behind me is also wearing a 4.

Oooh running through sprinklers and hanging out on the beach sounds amazing. Thanks Carolyns!

I can second the sprinkler comment by Carolyn. When it's so hot out, I will intentionally run by the yards that have sprinklers shooting into the sidewalks/street.

Never heard of Over the Line - sounds like fun!

I enjoy running (unless it's really hot and muggy) and I enjoy the feeling of accomplishment in finishing my longest run of the week (i.e. yeah! I stuck it out and a whole 8 miles!) or having run my interval run at the paces I was supposed to (also hard when it's so hot out).

I try to switch up my route to prevent boredom... I like to run through a nearby park, we also have a towpath along the canal nearby. I like having scenery to look at while I run, and the parks and canal by us have all kinds of greenery and wild life. One of the parks near us has a couple water fountains in it, that has been key for the last couple of HOT runs - I plan my route so that I can swing by there when I think I will need water.

I don't see it as a chore, but I do like to get my run in first thing in the morning when it's cooler -when possible- and then I can have the rest of my day and know that I already exercised.

When I go for bike rides, since I go farther, I can plan more fun stuff. For example 2 weekends ago, my husband and I biked about 15 miles to a cutesy little nearby town with some good restaurants; we had lunch, then we biked the 15 miles back. Nice way to break it up.

After my seawall runs I love nothing more than to find a comfy log on Kits Beach, change my playlist, and enjoy the natural beauty around me. Living in Vancouver means endless gorgeous vistas, and there is something about that post-run clarity that allows me to drink it all in more easily!

Fun Summer Running Activity #1: Make it your personal mission to run through as many sprinklers as possible. That'll really bring out your inner 5-year-old!
