seeing tango red

what we love in red

Say it with us: rouge. If you've been around the lululemon block, you know we don't do red often. It's a special thing  - and we consider the return of colour a very special thing. Now that we're coming back to colour, what could be hotter than Tango Red? Nothing, as far as we're concerned. (Just saying "rouge" gets our hearts are racing.)

our tango red love list

"Red nail polish on women over the age of 85." - Andrea, Community

"My favorite sample from Spring 2010 that didn't make the cut... especially when worn with my red boots." - Niamh, Design

"Picnics. Great food in the great outdoors is hard to beat." - Michael, Digital

"My red coaster from Nood. It keeps my desk neat, and contrasts well with the white around the office." - Justin, Blue Sky

"I love the red 'Keep Calm' posters that crop up around the office. Great words to live by in general...especially the one about our website." - Lesia, Digital

"The Strengthsfinder 2.0 books around the office. Seeing people's strengths is like spying on the secret recipe behind their personality."  - Sara, Digital

"Tulips please. They bring any room to life." - Paula, Social Media

"The soles of my Louboutins. Need I say more?" - Sheena, Ecommerce

It seems like people will take any excuse to spend money on needless
things to pump up their feeling of entitlement and self worth, but
these pants won’t do it! And the advertisement only feeds on these
insecurities. When did yoga become a fashion statement and not moving
meditation? Finally, it’s pretty sad that lulu can’t produce organic
or free trade anything for the prices they charge. Come on. There
laughing all the way to the bank. Most of their clothing comes from sweatshops in third world countries

Oh no, not Essie! Did you guys know Essie is owned by L’Oreal? L’Oreal is one of the biggest animal testing companies out there today… so sad to see that you guys are supporting the brand :(

Hi Jackie! There’s a “Keep Calm” app where you can make your own “Keep Calm and *blank*” posters. Check your iPhone app store!

I wish your clothing was priced to be more affordable. The brand is very exclusive (only the wealthy may wear it.) What I really cannot get over is how while the price is so high, the products are still mostly made in sweatshops. WHY!?

Hey Grace,
Thanks for taking the time to voice your feedback and concerns. We have a very high standard both for our product and our working environments. This includes our global manufacturing partners.
Our sourcing team works hard to make sure we have strong, talented and ethical manufacturing partners and have regular audits done to make sure they are performing to our high standards.

To get more information on our factories, take a look at the below link. It goes over in detail what the process is like and what our expectations are.

We believe the pricing of our garments are fair and reflect the high standards of material, design and production that goes into them.

Is Lulu coming out with the Tango Red in the running shorts soon? I have a competition in a month and really want them for my team!

Comment by Camille — May 13, 2011 @ 5:42 pm

Hey Camille,
Thanks for your question! Our colour palette has changed from last month’s which had Tango Red on it. This means we won’t see as many items in Tango Red as we transition between the colours. Keep an eye out though, as we will most likely see a few items come out in Tango Red over the next month, I’m just not sure what items that will be, as our designers like to keep upcoming product a surprise.
