I have been following the blog posts that date back many years regarding larger sizes and have seen lulu's stock answer posted over and over again. Although we keep asking, lulu is nt answering. I am surprised no one has posted links to other companies that we can get larger sized (and nice!) workout gear....has anyone found some great sites to help the rest of s out?

I really think plus sizing would be great. I buy tons of nike in plus sizes, but want more stylish options. There are a lot of full figured girls who are working their tails off (literally :)) to get more fit, and want to wear fashion forward workout wear like lulu. I would be the first to purchase--so let me know if you end up adding a few plus size options.

The explanation that you run small, boutique-style stores does no explain why you cannot sell an expanded range of sizes through your website. Many, many stores do this to expand on their in-store offerings. If Lululemon chooses not to serve full-figured women, it's reasonable to assume that you want to keep your brand targeted to thin women for branding purposes.

Like many other posts, I would like to see an expanded size option. I wear a 10/12 pant and a 12/14 top (darn boobs). I am self-conscious about my weight right now and so something super tight is not going to make me feel better. But I also don't want to wear a tent. A nice fitted jacket, tank, T etc. would be great to be form-fitting without exposing EVERY bulge. Thanks for any consideration. I now you want a certain image and at 47 I probably am not it. But you are missing a huge percent of the population who has money to spend on good clothes.

Love, love, love Lululemon!!...but always wonder why, in stores and online the size 8-12's sell out so fast while there are always size 2,4 available...I'm a stats person and it would be interesting to see what size sells the most .... it would be great for you to produce more of the larger sizes or even more than you anticipate AS WELL AS perhaps having a plus size for those well endowed and beautiful ladies out there. Please have available more larger sizes. Thanks!

I am yet another person requesting larger sizes. I see the responses to the request. "I will forward to design team". But I also see these comments date back 2 years. How long is it going to take? If you are not going to do it, just be honest!!!! I am a size 14 flirting down to a 12. I started working out heavily 2 months ago and have lost 30lbs. I am still losing and hopefully will be able to wear more lulu stuff in the future. I am currently able to wear a size 12 groove pant. I currently workout 7days a week sometimes twice a day. Thats a lot of workout clothes I need which would be a lot of revenue for you! I have been thinking of buying some stock in this company, if larger sizes were introduced it would be a no brainier!

The fact that all of the comments requesting larger sizes all seem to be ignored just implies that Lulu does not think us larger gals are worthy enough to wear their clothing! Last time I checked, XL is not as size 12.
You keep giving a pathetic excuse that your current business plan does not have room for extended sizes, yet you ignore the wonderful idea that maybe you at least offer extended sizes for purchase online.
It's a shame, you have really sute comfortable looking clothing, but I guess someone else will be getting my money....

Hi there,
Me again! I just did some more research on Lululemon and the plus-sized debate and found this enlightening article from the Calgary Herald from 2005 that explains Chip Wilson's stance on the plus-sized gal:
'"Lululemon founder and CEO Chip Wilson says it takes 30 per cent more fabric to put together larger sizes. That stretchy fabric doesn't come cheap, and he believes women looking for those larger sizes aren't willing to shell out the extra money.

"It's a money loser, for sure," he says. "I understand their plight, but it's tough."

If Wilson charged more for plus-size clothes to recoup costs, he's sure he would be taken to the human rights commission. Plus-size people, he says, are very sensitive.'
http://bodacious1.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=CalgaryHerald&action=display&thread=36

This, of course, doesn't explain why Lululemon carries mens' clothing in plus sizes and still seems to be making a profit AND still manages to make room for them in the cool boutique stores.

This is from 2005, however, and Mr. Wilson is no longer CEO. Also, since 2004 Lululemon has been sourcing out the production of products to places such as United States, China, Israel, Taiwan, India, Thailand, Peru, and Indonesia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lululemon_Athletica
With such outsourcing saving the company money you'd imagine that the extra 30% of fabric wouldn't seem so expensive anymore.

Anyway, that article from the Calgary Sun gives links to other stores that carry quality yoga/workout wear for women up to size 24. Let's get skinny using those clothes, ladies! Then we can shop at Lulu!! :)

The fact that a vast majority of the comments here are asking for larger sizes is proof that the interest is there for a plus size line. However, I find the fact that Lulu classifies someone who is size 12 as an XL insulting. They obviously do not want "fat" people wearing their clothes. I'd rather take my business elsewhere - where someone size 12+ will feel valued!!

Hi there,
The plus-size clothing market is quite a lucrative one to branch into. If you enter a plus size clothing store such a Penningtons or AdditonElle you can find clothing sized X-4X being sold for twice (or triple) the price of clothing of similar quality in 'regular' sizes.
Bearing this in mind it would seem that Lululemon would make a CONSIDERABLE amount of money if they developed a plus sized line.
Is store space a problem? Launch a new store catered specifically to plus sized gals or make the line available online or for special order. Lululemon could probably get away with charging more for these plus sized products and plus-sized consumers would gladly pay the price for the privilege of owning a quality brand name product that FITS. It is a sad but realistic marketing truth.
I am obviously a 'plus-sized' person and find it interesting that your company caters to larger men but will not cater to larger women and cite 'boutique store sized and style' as an issue. Despite the many, many comments here begging for larger sizes I believe that the real test will be when these women pay for yoga and workout wear elsewhere.
Good luck, Lululemon. You have a beautiful brand that exists on word of mouth and brand-value - make sure you value those who consume and love your product (regardless of size!!!).

Hi Megan,

Our business model focuses on smaller, boutique-style retail stores, which in turn limits the size range we can offer within each style and colour. We are always open to design feedback about the products and sizes we offer, and I have forwarded your comments along to our design team to let them know that you would love to see us offer larger sizes in the future. I'm sorry to hear about your store experience as well. We'd love to chat about your experience and provide your feedback to the store you were in. If you can reach out to us at the Guest Education Centre (1.877.263.9300) we'd love to chat.

Why do your sizes only go to a 12/14?? I find that highly unacceptable as most women these days are heavier. Clearly the Lululemon brand is discriminating against larger women. I am a plus size woman who loves yoga and works out 5 days a week. Id love to wear lululemon but cant because the clothes dont fit and when a plus sized person walks into a store the staff stare them down.

MAKE SOME CHANGES!!!!!!!!!!!!
