A passion for dancing up a storm.

What came next was meeting some of the most inspiring and outstanding people I’ll probably ever come across in this lifetime. Oh, we hired hundreds of new, fabulous lululemon faces, and we launched exciting attraction programs too... the work was about as challenging, fast paced, and action packed as anyone could hope for! But an itching desire to strike out, take risks and have a grand adventure always slumbered within me, and I knew deep in my heart of hearts that there was something more, waiting for me, somewhere across the Atlantic.

As a hopeless romantic I had spent my entire life wishing, dreaming and hoping that someday I’d live in Europe. However, I never really took any steps to make these visions a reality. It wasn’t until I learned and understood the skills of goal setting, received some incredible coaching and encouragement from Susanne Conrad, and created a vision board with my People Resources team, that it finally sunk in that I needed to DO IT NOW.

So I did.

Fast forward to present day, March 2010, and I have leapt over the pond and landed myself smack dab in the centre of Edinburgh, Scotland. By some force of fate, luck or magic, I have managed to stay a part of the lululemon recruitment team and continue to work remotely; providing creative project management for our key 2010 initiatives. Technology really is an incredible thing, when someone can log in to say hello to their favourite coworkers each morning via Skype, and at the same time, live out their wildest traveling dreams.

So far, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Chamonix (France) have been the hosts of my traveling office. In early March, I’ll be working from Spain, and I have an ambitious list of places that I plan to spread some lululemon love in the months to come!

What is your role at lululemon?

I am a "recruitment consultant" on the People Resources team. I hesitate to even talk about my title because I think it can be misleading... we're involved in so much here at lululemon.... attraction, sourcing, community, training, coaching, mentoring... it's a lot more than your typical "post and fill" recruitment role!!

What's your favourite part of your workday?

Favourite part of my day would be walking down the halls of lululemon and seeing all the awesome people I've been a part of hiring and what their world looks like now! I LOVE hearing about the things that have changed in their lives since they started at lululemon, the goals they've achieved, and what their plans are for the future. It inspires me!

How do you think your co-workers would describe you?

I think my co-workers would probably describe me as positive, creative, friendly, passionate, redheaded, ambitious, determined, analytical, curious, and maybe even a bit ridiculous.

What 's your favourite yoga class? Why?

It changes, but at the moment it is hot yoga at West Coast Yoga... mainly because it is about 10 feet away from where I live and I don't have to go far when I'm REALLY sweaty after class.

How do you usually sweat once a day?

Doing the grouse grind, yoga, running or dancing.

What’s one activity/fitness trend that you’ve been dying to try?

Barre Method / Dailey Method!!

What’s the last thing you did that scared you?

The last thing I did that really scared me was telling my amazing team that I am moving Scotland in 2010. It was an incredibly hard decision, but I have had "Exploring Europe" in my goals for the past 3 years and I am finally making it a reality.

Amy, from our Community Legacies team! Amy has been an inspiration for me since the very first interview. As soon as I met her I was just so impressed with how eloquent she is, her commitment to the environment and sustainability, how she empowers the people around her, and just overall what a hilarious and amazing woman she is. It would be great gift to be able to see the world from her eyes for a day!
