the ambassador project

goal setting - vision and goals - ambassador project

Chances are high you’ve seen Tess' name around Twitter and our Facebook page, answering your product questions or handing out virtual high fives for recent goals crushed. As one of our incredibly social savvy team members - Tess spends her days pursuing the internet and chatting with some of the coolest people out there (like you!). The conversations Tess has every day at work consistently inspire her and recently led her to create a badass goal - "the Ambassador Project".

Have you ever had one of those moments where you wonder “Is this real life?” Those happen to me on the regular in my job. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, I work in social media. This vague title (much to the confusion of border control officers and my parents – hi, Mum!) allows me the opportunity to spend my days cruising the internet and chatting to some of the raddest people out here – you guys.  I answer tweets about anything from directions to the nearest store to the best places to sweat in your hood. I’m naturally chatty (ask anyone who’s ever been in a room with me) so getting up each morning to hear about all the cool and inspiring things our guests are up to is such a treat.

One group of people that inspire me daily are our  ambassadors. Now, I fully intend on finishing my degree and eventually winding up with my PhD in physiology but if the opportunity arose for me to be a professional marathon cheerleader, I’d drop the textbooks in a heartbeat. The thing is, I love athletes. I have the deepest respect for anyone who is willing to go all out to try something they’ve never done before. Nothing moves me to keep going than knowing that there are people out there getting up to 4am alarms to run track in the rain, juggling schedules to create workouts or showing up on their mats for their students. I’m a person who turns to sweat when things gets rough. I wanted to spend some time getting to know the people that have helped me through some of my darkest hours and might not even know it. It started with a simple declaration and lo, the Ambassador Project was born.

the road ahead

I have a long, sweaty road ahead of me which is perfect for working off holiday shortbread and one too many spiked eggnogs.  After the YVR edition is complete, I’m headed to NYC to stretch, spin and sweat with our ambassadors in the city that don’t sleep. I can’t wait to see all of you on the mat, in the box or on the bike.

Feeling inspired? Get out there and get to know the ambassadors in your neighbourhood. Needing inspiration? You know where Tess can be found and she’d be happy to chat about your goals and sweaty pursuits. If you’re an ambassador and you want to sweat with her, leave a note or shoot her a tweet @thatgirlsix with the hashtag #ambassadorproject. Let’s get sweaty!

Hey Tess!
I have been working with lululemon for many many years as an Ambassador and Alumni Ambassador. I was among the first for both of these titles. I teach hot, power vinyasa and have been for more than 10 years. I would LOVE LOVE LOVE you to come sweat with me at my favorite studio – hauteyoga Queen Anne – here in Seattle, where I am director of Yoga. I have super fun tunes, cool sequencing and an incredible community of yogis. COME SEE me!!! check out my website, I’d love you to come on retreat with me too! ;)
Big love,
JL

As an ambassador I think this is an awesome project! Come for a run if you end up in Winnipeg for any reason.

Hi Tess!

Impressive goal and equally impressive timeline in which to get it done. Good job!

I am an Ambassador in the Los Angeles area (Plaza El Segundo), and would LOVE to SWEAT WITH YOU! If you are out this way, please come as my guest to Equinox Palos Verdes or Spectrum Club South Bay for some Yoga or BODYPUMP!

Also, congrats to everyone in the company for being honored during “Fit Week” by NASDAQ, and ringing the closing bell on Monday 1/7/13!

Hope to see you!

You really have to come to Minneapolis! I have had the privilege of sweating with several MOA am-badass-adors, and they are THE BOMB. Seriously. They just go in there, and blow it up — ’cause they’re rockstars like that.

You should come. Tout suite. :)

Hi Tess!

You are one lucky lady! What a great opportunity and experience to get to know so many people who are doing things that make them feel good, healthy and strong! Like you, and many other ambassadors, I love sweating when I workout , and feel it is a BIG part of my workout. As an ambassador of the South Coast Plaza store, I was inspired by my sweaty yoga practice to create a barre class that was equally as sweaty with a unique spin on the traditional ballet barre by incorporating eccentric movement from other dance forms! We sweat hardcore in my class, as we dance to European house and reggeathon music. Whenever you are in Southern California, come shake it with me in Irvine! I promise you will swear, move and groove!

Oh my goodness gracious, thank you so much for all of the amazing invites!

@ JL: I have heard many amazing things about hauteyoga Queen Anne. I’m (pretty much) just up the road here in Vancouver so I’ll be sure to stop by the next time I head below the 49th parallel.

@ Dwayne: I have goals to bring this project country and worldwide so I’ll definitely be taking you up on your offer!

@ Valentina and DeDe: There seems to be a lot happening in the sunny land of California and I’d be stoked to get sweaty with both of you.

@ Kristine: This sounds awesome! Do you have any ambassador classes that are topping your list these days? I’d love to hear about them.

@ Errick: Oh, it’s on! I’m sense a burpee challenge coming on…

Hi Tess!
Love your adventure and would love to see you in Northern California (Lululemon Palo Alto or at Evolution Trainers (my other home base…www.evolutiontrainers.com) as you’re passing down the West Coast! We can rock some strength and power, urban bootcamp and parcour through the streets, or blend it all together and finish with Vinyasa infused mobility and flexibility! Sending you open lungs, a strong heart and big love on your adventure!
A :)
