why they love their bodies

Nicole, a photographer and educator at lululemon Eaton Centre in Toronto, asked guests and educators what their favourite body part is and why.

rebecca

I love my collarbone because it is so defined and makes me feel oh so beautiful and womanlike, especially when I'm dancing, modeling, acting and walking!

marlissa

I love my arms because they are feminine and lean, especially my triceps. They make me feel strong when I'm grabbing those handle bars in spin class!

keri

I love my bum because it is like no one else's and follows me everywhere I go. It rocks out from everything to squats, shopping and even on the dance floor!

karey

I love my legs because they carry me through my day. I appreciate that I've been blessed with two of them. They provide me with thee ability to dance, run, swim, bike, hike or strut!

jennifer

I love my tiny waist because it leads to a nice bum, which isn't always popular for Asian women. I love my waist in hot yoga class and finding outfits to accentuate it.

greg

I have been blessed with naturally broad shoulders. They are the envy of my smaller shouldered brother. They look even larger when compared with my tiny hands.

ashley, alex & marisa

Ashley: I love my collarbones because they protrude and make me feel beautiful. My favourite workout is bikini bootcamp.

Alex: I love my stomach because it's toned and makes me feel good about myself, and shows me that my hardcore ab workouts are paying off.

Marisa: I love my arms because they make me feel strong and beautiful, especially my biceps. I love working my arms in a muscle conditioning class called Fabulously Firm.

andrea

I love my beautiful waist because it makes me feel awesome, especially sweating in Zumba class.

What's your favourite body part, and why?

AHHHHMAZING! It’s so inspiring to see other men and women should they’re happiness and gratitude towards their bodies. Sometimes we don’t always appreciate the blessing we have! Awesome post Nicole :)

You guys all rock!! Awesome post!!

I love my legs, knees down…after 9+ years of dance, they are the leanest part of my body!! They are strong, and get me where I need to go!!

I love my smile. If I’m smiling it’s what I’m feeling inside… happy!

This is such a great post! It’s fun to see beautiful women (and men!) who are REAL, fit, and happy! SOOO much better than looking at a magazine of models and celebrities. Thanks for this…
Oh, and I like my legs and booty – they help me rock out in Zumba class and while running.

I love my eyes because they are unique and they make me see the world, the colors, the sun, I can smile with them, show deep emotions, and most of all, I can love with them!

This is pretty darn creative Nicole, nicely done. The photos are all exceptional, and the concept of their favorite body part being incorporated into the photographic aspect is done perfectly! :)

I love my arms and shoulders, love how strong I feel, lean and mean…without doing weights, all from Yoga. I love that at the age of 50 I don’t have bat wings and can wear sleeveless top and feel good about it!

I love my legs because they carry me far. 10K and counting, and (hopefully) through my next challenge: a half-marathon.

Yeah! Can’t wait to visit your store! I am running in the Toronto Waterfront Marathon Sept. 26. Coming in from Cleveland Ohio! Hope you have lots of good things for me to buy.

I think this is a great post. Nicole’s photography is absolutely stunning and I can’t wait to see more of her posts. I think it’s great that she photographed different body types, because everyone should be proud of at least some parts of their body! It’s so easy for us pick a part of our body that we hate (our teeth, our hips, our flabby arms) but it’s a challenge to tell others what we love about our bodies. Embrace! This is a lovely post!

Love the positive message of this post. I have, like most women, felt less than inspired by my body at certain times, and it is such a waste of energy. Having children completely changed that for me. This body gave me 2 beautiful girls, and I love all of it, flaws and all!
