Debra was born in Montreal and moved to Laguna Beach 14 years ago. As an avid runner she is right at home in the active Southern Californian lifestyle.
Debra used to teach a run class for 6 years and teaches spin classes at Fixed Gear for over 10 years. Spinning is great cross training for building both cardio and stamina. Fixed gear has some incredible athletics that share the same opinion. I have also coached many friends through their first race, as I am passionate about helping other reach their goal.
Debra’s ultimate goal is to combine her passion for running with different charity organizations, using these accomplishments as a way to effect lives of other people more in need. Debra has run a Marathon and several half marathons for friends with cancer whenever I could so that I could make a difference as they went thru their journey. In fact in 2012 Debra established Team Laura Laura in honor of my sister n law who just passed away from Cancer. My team and I took a stand against cancer and ran a 50k at El Moro canyon to raise money for John Wayne Cancer Foundation.
Oct 2011 Debra was the event manager for a relay from San Francisco to San Diego raising funds for Challenged Athletics foundation (CAF). Her team ran a world record 673 miles in 110 hours in teams of ten. Her life was so touched by meeting some incredible runners...running with someone that only has one leg will change your life. Debra was also privileged and honored to run Hood to Coast twice with the Nature Girlz placing first in the sub masters while most girls were well into their forties. These are some incredible women who have truly inspire her!!!
As an entrepreneur, she owns a clothing company and designs cashmere sweaters called Oats Cashmere and can appreciate a great apparel company that inspires so many people! Every event, whether alone or with a team, there was always Lululemon running gear.
“Running is an irreplaceable part of her life that has brought me incredible joy and friends for life. I am absolutely ecstatic to join the lululemon family as one of their ambassadors for their South Coast store.”
