I have been a personal trainer for seven years. Health and fitness has always been a big part of my life. Three years ago, I decided to try yoga to discover something new and improve my flexibility. My first experience was terrible, as well as the second. Each time I would basically sit on my mat while the other students in the class would perform those "Cirque du Soleil" poses. I would leave desperate, and very frustrated that I could do nothing.
That was until I found the right place and the right teachers, the kind that would stay connected with the students, offering poses with modifications so you could do everything! It was amazing. Besides being a little more flexible each time, I left class feeling happy, light, energized, stronger physically and mentally, ready to face the world! I was accepting myself the way I was, right there on my mat and outside the studio, day after day… I immediately knew that I had to share that feeling with others. I couldn't keep it only for myself. I took the American Power Yoga teacher training in January 2009 and I am now doing what I love to do: teach yoga and share all those amazing feelings that come with it!
Karine completed her 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher certification with Yoga Alliance through American Power Yoga.
