Christine has always had a love of being physically active. Spending most of her years taking dance classes, she started running after moving to the popular Katy Trail in Dallas, TX four years ago. “I find a lot of similarities in dancing and running. For me it’s about your body in a rhythm and finding a pace.” She is often recognized by her unique toe running style, heels never touching the ground.

Inspired after seeing a co-worker run the relay of Dallas’s White Rock Marathon in 2006 she decided that she would try her first half marathon (13.1 miles) that spring. 11 half marathons and several shorter distance races later, she hasn’t stopped. She is a member of the Dallas Running Club and served as a pace leader helping others reach their own goals. She is an active member of the local running community and can often be found on the Katy Trail or at White Rock Lake with her golden retriever Jersey.

December 13, 2009 she will be doing her first full marathon (26.2 miles) as part of the Dallas White Rock Marathon, the same race that moved her to think “what if” years earlier.

“Running has changed my life. It's given me a sense of confidence that can only come from testing your own limits, pushing yourself to them, and knowing that you can come out on the other side.”
