There seems to be a common misconception that Yoga is for the flexible, affluent, vegetarian "bend master" who can put their legs behind their head to reach enlightenment, but it's designed for all walks of life. Her most inspiring teacher? Matthew Sanford, a visionary of possibility and hope who teaches yoga from his wheelchair due to a devastating accident that left him paralyzed from the waist down. Yoga was introduced to me shortly after losing my mother to cancer. "I instantly found a sanctuary of healing and total mind, body and spiritual wellness from that small piece of rectangular material called the mat."
