Heather was first introduced to yoga by her mother at the age of 13 when she began practicing some asana and meditation to help cope with moving and adjusting to a new school. Heather dabbled with Yoga and exercise for several years but didn’t really bring Yoga into her life until a back injury and the death of her mother at the age of 25.
After 10years of continuous yoga practice and strongly influenced by her Yoga Teacher in Las Vegas and meeting Seane Corn, Heather decided to become a registered yoga teacher upon moving to Atlanta in 2008. Heather received her first 200HR teacher training from Sivananda Vedante Center in Canada and furthered her trainings in Prenatal Yoga, Grounded Kids Yoga, attending Yoga Journal Conferences and various workshops, and is currently completing her 500HR Yoga Therapy certification through Pranakriya. Heather’s main teaching focus is Prenatal Yoga and Yoga Therapy for clients in addition to her Hatha/Vinyasa Yoga classes. Heather has also been a birth Doula to several of her prenatal students and a Yoga Mama to many!
As a teacher, Heather brings in her own personal experience and training focus on the value of yoga for physical, emotional and mental wellbeing to all classes she teaches. She has the ability to make each class both challenging and therapeutic with a strong emphasis on inclusivity for all skill levels as well as an emphasis on alignment and freedom! Each class has a central theme with yoga poses, meditation and music, all selected to enhance the theme. Heather is continuously learning and studying with various teachers around the country including: Seane Corn and the “Off The Mat Into the World” program, Amy Ippoliti, Marlysa Sullivan, Leslie Howard, and Yoganand-Michael Carroll. She is a member of Yoga Alliance and the International Association of Yoga Therapists.
Heather and her husband spend much of their time traveling around the world including Viking River Cruises in Europe and Sailing in the British Virgin Islands! Before becoming a full time yoga teacher, Heather was the Manager of Flight Attendant Training for a Las Vegas Based Airline.
