Angela Kilcullen received her yoga certification seven years ago while nearing the end of her NBA dance career. Initially she was drawn to yoga for the physical work out and to maintain flexibility, but she was pleasantly surprised to find that her old dance injuries began to dissolve. And as the layers of pain peeled away, the unexpected desire to delve into the mindful and spiritual dimensions of the practice took hold. Yoga is now an integral part of her life and because of it Angela feels she is a better and more present wife, mother, teacher and friend.
Angela teaches with Vinyasa’s freedom of movement and choreography (paralleling her dance background) and she is inspired by Anusara’s alignment principles and philosophy. No two of her classes are ever alike and she safely builds the student into more challenging poses so their bodies and minds are fully prepared to go into greater depth. She is always astounded and humbled to witness the way yoga transforms students from the inside out… she is certain she has the best job in the world! Angela’s classes are playful, yet powerful, and she incorporates uplifting music to invoke a fun atmosphere. Yoga can be perceived as a very serious practice, but when our hearts are light and minds are open is it possible to find the happiness and truth we all seek.
