Kaia Yoga/Equinox
After working in the fashion industry for over 20 years, I knew that I needed to make a change in my life but was unsure what that meant. So I headed to an ashram retreat with a few friends, where I meditated to add more peace and happiness into my life. Returning from that experience, I was informed that the company had to downsize and my position was being eliminated, so “poof”. . .my wish was granted! I seized this opportunity and committed to listen to my heart to take the next step on the journey of my yoga practice. I am now a 200 Hour Registered Yoga Instructor, and also certified in Kids Yoga and Yin Yoga. Currently, I am working on pursuing my 300 Hour Certification within the next year and attending continuing education workshops as often as possible.
My teaching combines my passion for yoga, alignment and discipline from a competitive dance background with the playfulness of outdoor sports such as kayaking, hiking, and biking. For me, yoga is about taking what you manifest physically on your mat and applying that too your life off your mat. Intention is a powerful tool that we all have, so my philosophy is to start where you are, be kind to yourself, and breathe and laugh a lot!
I am grateful to all of my teachers, which include my students on a daily basis. Their wisdom, knowledge, encouragement, and challenges continue to open my heart and mind with every encounter. If you can open your mind to possibility, the results are endless! I am thrilled to be part of the lululemon community and am inspired each time I read the manifesto.
I remind myself everyday, to be Grateful for Yoga.
