There is one word to describe what drives and inspires Ashley's practice and everyday life-“Gratitude.”
She lives with a belief that we have exactly what we need in each moment of each day; that each authentic breath presents new opportunity to go deeper into our hearts, and our truth.
Originally from Truro, Ashley now calls the Annapolis Valley her home. Living in Kentville with her hubby and two doodles (Louie and Ernie), she takes full advantage of each day exploring trails with her pups, market hopping, or Sunday driving with her lover (yes, she's one of those slow drivers you hate to meet on the road) soaking up the bliss of the country side.
Thanking God each day for her abundance of blessings; Ashley has found her true calling and opening Sol Yoga (17 Webster Court, Kentville) at the beginning of 2011 was a dream come true. To be able to share this unbelievable practice with others in her community, and to spend each day at “work” laughing, loving and serving others is a truly a gift. Ashley brings to her classes compassion and awareness for her students, accepting each individual and authentic journey on the mat; she loves pumping the tunes for a sweaty power class, but also thoroughly enjoys leading students into a deep surrender during a gentle yin-style class.
Ashley originally came to yoga during University as a way of relaxation and exercise. She wanted to do yoga simply for its physical benefits and fell in love with a deeper, more mindful practice of self-discovery and inspiration. Her yoga journey has poured out into every aspect of her life, deepening her connection to the earth and all its wonders. This deepened awareness for her body and the world around her has taught her to live simply and soak up each moment of life’s beautiful journey. Ashley feels passionately about living a life of karma, always planting seeds of Metta (loving kindness) with each breath and in everyone/thing she encounters. The integrity and acceptance she practices on the mat has developed the ground roots to live a compassionate, more purposeful life; reflecting joy and love for all living things.
Feel blessed for our experiences, those both good and bad; take a breath, jump into the unknown, LOVE.
