Ryan Cairns

UFIT/Kettlebell Instructor

Ryan has always had a love of sports and fitness growing up. He played varsity volleyball while studying exercise physiology in the Sport and Leisure program at Holland College. While studying there to become a personal trainer,

Ryan was introduced to Ufit and unexpectedly found himself teaching group fitness, he gave it a chance and it soon became his passion. Combining dance, aerobics, and strength training, Ufit offers the most fun anyone can have while working out. After helping thousands of people on Prince Edward Island reach their fitness goals, Ryan moved to Halifax in 2009 to work as a personal trainer and fitness assessor. His passion to teach Ufit overcame him and he brought the fun to Halifax where he has been helping people get their groove on ever since.

Almost immediately after moving to Halifax, Ryan started kettlebell training and quickly became certified. He has been training clients and running bootcamps with kb’s ever since. Kettlebells provide a full body workout that combines cardio, strength, and flexibility into one incredible workout.

Ryan was the head fitness tester for 2009 Canada Summer Games. He has also done fitness testing for para-medicine students at Holland College, and for the Department of National Defense in Halifax. His education and experience landed him a job at Dalhousie University where he is currently a personal trainer, fitness tester, and kettlebell instructor.

Ryan’s love of fitness is apparent in his everyday life. He can’t believe that play is his work. He is usually busy training a client, running a kettlebell class, or dancing his butt off at Ufit. When he is not doing that, he is playing beach volleyball, travelling, writing fitness articles for G! Magazine, and enjoying life to the fullest. Just play!!!
