Marathoner
Tammy began running at the age of 8 years old, she began running as a way to alleviate stress from downtown living and all the other pressures of 'growing up'. Slowly, Tammy began doing long distance running and her first marathon was at the age of 29. Over the last 12 years, Tammy has completed 59 marathons, 15 Cabot Trail Relays, approximately 60 Half-Marathons and has 7 marathon wins under belt. In 2008, Tammy won the Nova Scotia Marathon Championship. Not only did she win for the women's field, but beat out all the men as well. At the age of 40, she has just run the Toronto marathon, finishing 19th overall and 6th for her new age category of Masters. Her main inspiration to this day are her two daughters, Emma (11) and Aerin (8) and Black Lab, Maya and two cats, Jack and Fluffy! To be content and find peace in our lives is her main focus. To build dreams, have goals and push ourselves beyond our own limitations is a passion that we should all share. Tammy dedicates her time to her children, her full time career as a Financial Planner, her Clients and her various affiliated community and charities! She loves to motivate and inspire. That is her dream and her legacy!
