Three months after running the San Francisco marathon in 1997 Lauren was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis and began fighting a long painful battle with a frightening disease. Determination to ease her pain led Lauren to her first Power yoga class with Baron Baptiste in 1998. From there her yoga world exploded with teacher trainings, certifications, seminars, and her own personal practice. Pure delight all along the way.
Yoga has provided her with a greater sense of self, decreased pain, unlimited positive energy, muscle tone, endurance, and most importantly, a strong desire to help others achieve the same level of well being. It is Lauren's dynamic personality, dedicated yoga practice, personal health struggles and love for yoga that allow her to relate to her students and infuse each class with inspiring, concise and worthy instruction. Lauren passionately cares about the wellness and happiness of each of her students and her sincerity shines through in every class. Lauren credits much of what she knows from mentors including Bikram Choudhury, Tony Sanchez, and David Swenson. Her students provide her with daily inspiration and she is eternally grateful for the opportunity to share something that has so profoundly improved her life.
Lauren previously owned and operated YogaDuzit, two studios offering Bikram and Power Flow Yoga located in Boston & Cambridge. The video below is about YogaDuzit's Bikram yoga classes. It TRULY relates to ALL YOGA...not just Bikram!
