Mariane Uehara

Mariane Uehara embodies the passionate, free-spirited nature of a native Brazilian. She is also a self made woman, and has put herself through college while working on various social-environmental projects. In 2006, she fulfilled her dream and moved to Hawaii, where she discovered the best of both worlds: a balance between a healthy, outdoor lifestyle and the opportunity to develop her career and life goals.

Mariane is currently a full-time graduate student at Hawaii Pacific University (Master of Arts in Global Leadership and Sustainable Development). She is the assistant coach for the HPU cross country team, and also coaches triathlon and running clinics. Mariane is one of Hawaii's top elite runners and triathletes.

In 2010, she established her company, "Free Lifestyle." which focuses on creating positive environments through basic practices of organization, sustainability and health. Whether she is training in the natural beauty of her surroundings, coaching others to achieve their ultimate fitness goals, or creating home/work spaces that reflect the simplicity of conscious living, it is more than a job, it is a way of life. It's a testament to her love for Hawaii, and it's culture, and bringing an awareness to all that the islands have to offer.

Mariane's love for life and pure happiness shine bright through all of her daily activities. She hopes to inspire others to develop their passions and embrace the rewards of simple living.
