Chris Roman has always had running in his blood, it is his truth. He ran his first Boston Marathon at age 21 clocking a decent time of 3:09. Chris was built to run.
After making his career switch to Radiology,Chris naturally fell back into the rhythm of running. On a whim, he entered his first ultra running event in 2006 and was fortunate enough to run with Dean Karnazes during his 50 Marathons in 50 States in 50 Days. Along this very technical trail run, Dean introduced Chris to the concept of Ultra-running.
After completing numerous 50k, 50 mile and 100k races, Chris competed in the Leadville 100 in 2008, a 100 mile trail race in Leadville, CO. The pure beauty of the race itself coupled with the time of personal discovery in the midst of adversity got him hooked on ultra running. Since that time he has continued to run primarily 100 mile and 100 + mile events including a sub 24hr finish at the Western States 100 in June 2010. Chris is currently serving as a Board Member for the FL Chapter of Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF).
We are cheering for our AMAZING ambassador on for his next big goal: January of 2011, Chris will be running the Brazil 135 and hopes to be accepted to run the Badwater 135 in July.
