Mary Lyn Jenkins

Mary Lyn is the founder of Big Fish Power Yoga and opened the doors to the studio in September 2010. The creation of Big Fish was the culmination of years of practice and leaning into a bigger game in life for herself and for serving others. Mary Lyn has been in a consistent practice of expanding as a student and teacher since 2004. Her classes are challenging yet accessible and filled with fun and heart.

Baron Baptiste is Mary Lyn’s main teacher with her first influence being Senior Baptiste Teacher, Lisa Black. While living in Seattle for almost a decade, Baptiste yoga and Lisa’s classes were introduced to her by a friend; she felt she had landed home.

Mary Lyn has a heart for service. She is a third-year Mentor with Africa Yoga Project, an AYP Empowerment Coach, a two-year Ambassador with lululemon athletica and a Certified Baptiste Instructor at the 500-hour level. Mary Lyn is an E-RYT 500, leads powerful 200-hour Teacher Trainings at Big Fish and assists Baron on teacher trainings and programs whenever she’s needed. Collaboration is her commitment and to recognize every single person who walks through the door as a leader ready to emerge.

“One of my favorite statements from Baron is, ‘we get powerful by making others powerful.’ This is my truth and what I am committed to being for the time I’ve been given. I get to give this to my kids, my friends and neighbors, my students, people in my immediate community and those who don’t have easy access to this powerful life-changing work. I have embraced why I am here. It is to serve from a grateful heart.”

Currently, Mary Lyn feels strongest when she’s teaching students and athletes yoga in the lunchroom at Lee High School, empowering students to become leaders and teachers at Big Fish, collaborating with the powerful Team at Big Fish on big ideas for our community and dancing with her kids and husband in their living room.

She believes in honoring all teachers who have impacted her life. These giants on the planet and in the classroom, just to name a few, include:
